Role of feminism in Literature

Literature, Feminism, Modern Society

By Samra Talha.Published 2 years ago 3 min read

To understand how and why women are depicted the way they are today, one must examine the historical evidence of women's positions in society and literature, as well as how they have changed over time. women played a limited position in ancient Greece, and this degradation is reflected in the literature of the time. by the 18th century, there were more recognized women writers and more females performing respectable roles in literature, though not to the extent that today's feminist philosophy demands. however, the status of women in society has evolved, as evidenced by literature; by the twentieth century, feminist revisions, vising literature inspired by feminist literary criticism, were widespread, even in books that

were deemed innovative at the time of their publication.

politically and socially significant events have driven authors and journalists to report on,

support, and reflect on those events through their writing throughout history. for early feminist

writers, this was the case. feminist literature arose from a desire to speak out against injustice

and to effect change. in the nineteenth century, an abundance of essays, articles, books, and

newspapers attracted the public's attention and contributed to the rise of reform for women. not

only did such literature have a massive effect as a force for change, but it also created a positive

impact for women and a long and fascinating legacy.

feminist literature frequently discusses current political issues, current views toward

women in society, or strives to dispel gender-specific stereotypes. it is not limited by religion or

culture; therefore, it covers a wide range of themes, including politics, racism, spirituality, and the

sanctity of marriage, among many others. these subjects have helped to create a rich patchwork

of great novels that is a part of our heritage and history. role of feminism in literature

Feminism Nowadays you can call it aggressive feminism(My personal view). It's just like history where there existed nationalism where everyone loves there own country but a time came aggressive nationalism which means love your nation and hate others and this principle is a major cause of world War. Similarly, Feminism means that girls/FEMALES should get HUMAN RIGHTS which are enjoyed by every one, right to vote, freedom of speech, right to education etc. But it should not mean to give Privileges to them, Women don't need Privileges because they are created by God in a manner in which they themselves are capable to manage. So yes with due respect equality must be given but hatred against men should not be encouraged.
