In the age of social media, everyone is in the mood of taking selfies. Especially the young generation often do not even notice that they are standing in a dangerous place. A girl named Kavita reached 'Menal' with her friends for a picnic. This is a beautiful tourist spot in Rajasthan. Which is known for its beautiful scenery, especially after heavy rains when the surrounding lakes and waterfalls are in spate. Like many of us, Kavita and her friends were enjoying bathing in the waterfall. Later, standing on the rocks near the waterfall, they started capturing this beautiful scene in a selfie. But as soon as Kavita came a little closer to the edge, the rock was slippery, she suddenly lost her balance and slipped. There was chaos all around. Some people standing nearby tried to save her but they failed and in no time, she was swept away in the water. The flow of water was fast. Kavita went ahead flowing with the flow and fell down in a narrow, rocky crevice. It was around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. When this happened, her friends panicked. Eventually, they called the police for immediate help. Rescuers, including police and firefighters, arrived in an hour and searched the area until nightfall. However, as it was getting dark and there was no sign of her in the fast flowing water, they had to call off the search, fearing something bad had happened. Her family and rescuers were already convinced that it was an accident. There was nothing she could have done. But everyone had given up hope of Kavita surviving.
Meanwhile, in that dark, cold crevice, Kavita was struggling for her life. She was stuck alone between the rocks all night, standing knee-deep in water, unable to move. The terrain was so tight and slippery that it was impossible for her to get out on her own. Luckily, she was getting enough oxygen to move, but it required all her willpower to continue. Luckily for her, the water was shallow at that place because of the rock formations, which kept her mouth above the water. She later shared how scary it was to be completely alone, staring at the night sky, not knowing if she would be found or not. She said she kept praying and hoping someone would come back for her.
The next morning, the rescue team returned ready to search for her body. But then, something amazing happened as they heard a faint voice calling for help. Kavita was alive! After 20 long hours in this rocky trap, she was finally pulled out, injured, exhausted, but alive. Her family was overwhelmed with joy and disbelief. Her father even said that it felt like a second birth for him. He thanked God for it all.
Kavita's survival was nothing short of a miracle. She survived with enough oxygen and incredible mental strength, which helped her endure the long, cold environment in complete darkness. Not many people alone and trapped could have survived such an ordeal. She was indeed one of the luckiest people to have survived such a terrifying experience.
Kavita was immediately admitted to the hospital where her health was checked and her treatment was started.
Kavita’s story is a lesson for society to remember. Not everyone is so lucky. It is important to enjoy life but it is wise to be cautious. We all need to be cautious, especially when taking selfies in dangerous places. One wrong move can change everything. So, while it may seem tempting to click the perfect picture, remember that no photo is worth risking your life for. Enjoy the moment, but always be safe!
