Personal relief from the book's approach exists while my optimism about its effect on other readers stands questioned. Still, I wouldn’t change that. Not for this book. It’s too important.

Final Thoughts

People who support human rights or seek truth and wonder about democratic living should read this book. It’s not an easy read. But it’s a necessary one.

Murray puts forward more than a narrative because he presents a demand to readers. Throughout the book, he questions readers about identifying their future identity. The choice lies before us to turn our faces from evil or to explicitly confront it. People should either defend murderers or support their victims. These questions matter. They’re not theoretical. They’re life and death.

The world gained new meaning after reading this book. This book delivered a strong lesson about how freedom comes at a cost and peace cannot be promised yet silence sometimes becomes lethal.
