Oathbound by Tracy Deonn!

This is not a recap but essential things you should know before diving into the highly anticipated 3rd Book of the LegendBorn series: Oathbound by Tracey Deonn.

As you know, this series is an epic tale with so much happening, and just to remind you, this is what you should know before reading final book in the series…

Disclaimer: These are not in order of events, these are in order of need to know.

Firstly Alice is in a coma. As in lovely little Alice is unresponsive, in a coma and Brianna cryptically says if you see my father first tell him I love him.

So obviously I'm like what happened to Mr Matthews.

Not all of the Legendborn Order agree with the High Council of Regents so much so that one of them even technically committed suicide by trying to kill Brianna. Yep, there are various people inside the secret society who don't believe our girl Bree deserves to be Arthurs Scion.

Brianna removed the blood of both Arthur and Vera (her ancestor) from her bloodline and thus from herself.

They are finally reunited with Nick.

Oh yeah, and Nick's dad died so he's merlin is going through some stuff, and probably might want revenge.

Remember the annoying Head of the elite Merlin Guard for the LegendBorn Society who was hunting Bree and her friends, Erebus? Remember him? Well he is the Shadow King. He has been pretending to be a Merlin for centuries and messing up Arthur's 'being called' from the inside.

Selwin aka Big Sel is succumbing to his demon blood. He is losing his war of resistance.

Brianna also gets the Shadow King to take Selwin to his mum because his mum is the only one. She is the only Merlin they know who has still kept her sanity despite the oaths, which drives all Merlins crazy when they go away from the path that they are supposed to go on or when they go against the Legendborn Order.

We learned that Brianna is actually blood-marked because Vera made a deal with the shadow king, that the shadow king would protect their family and their bloodline from mortal danger, including the legendborn society, but part of the deal also meant he will come to collect his favour when he's ready.

He seems ready now…and Brianna just went with him!

And Brianna agreed to go with him if he brought Selwin to his mother, which wasn’t a good deal. I would have asked for more.

During the battle at the end, one of the Morgans tried to kill author when he was possessing Brianna's body.

So now we know that the Morgans are most likely also trying to kill Bree.

Everyone is trying to kill little Brianna and she only just turned 17. In fact on the day of her 17th birthday, she got a lovely kiss from Selwin and then the High Council of Regents came and attacked the place that she was staying at.

Also when Arthur possessed Brianna's body she went to Camelot where she saw a memory of Arthur and his sister Morgan, yes that Morgana. And Morgan was saying that they should get rid of the shadow crown and Arthur was saying that they shouldn't. So…Arthur either has ulterior motives or he is succumbing to the crown (or something).

And remember the hunter that was hunting medium root crafters? Yeah, he is also the Shadow King. And he has been patiently waiting for the time and opportunity when a root crafter would awaken Arthur and when that person is powerful enough he's going to kill them and drain all that power.

And that person is Bree.
