Never let anybody tell You what you can and can't do

I recently watched a movie named "The Pursuit of Happyness" where happiness was spelled as "Happyness". I wonder how I came to watch this movie when I had no plans and never thought about watching this. And the most interesting thing was I didn't even knew that this movie existed.

When I was just scrolling down the social media, I saw a post where a person mentioned 7 names of must watch movie. I just took it's screenshot and on weekend, I watched it.

Well, This is the story of how a man struggling with his livelihood, became a millionaire. This story depicts the struggle a middle class family faces to pay his house rents, children education, home care and wishes or desires, and wife being unsupportive when her husband is trying harder to make everything right.

Not only that, let's look to the positive sides of that, It teaches us no matter what life throws at us, we should always be optimistic and have the desire to become successful. The only person who gets to the top is the one who never give up, who never thought that he/she can't do it, one who always struggled but still managed to smile and say I will make it one day.

The main character of the movie is Chris Gardner, a homeless sales person. He, his son Christopher and his wife Linda. Chris invested all his hard earned money in portable bone-density scanners, which he used to sell to the doctors as the cheaper and more efficient alternative to traditional X-ray machines.

The movie starts with the scene where Chris is taking his son to caretaker and they discuss about what Christopher would like to have in his birthday. While returning, He saw Happiness spelled as Happyness in the street wall and he said to the cleaner to change it.

He being a sales man who had not been able to sell any one of the bone density scanners, used to run over doctors and doctors to sell them, and with that money he would have been able to pay his rent and fulfill all his necessity.

His wife Linda, was very disappointed with him because they hadn't paid the rent for 2 months and after a week it would be 3 months. So, she worked double shifts.

When Chris was on his way to sell his bone density scanner, he met a person in a red Ferrari, and asked him 2 question, "What do you do?" " How did you do it?" The man replied I am a stockbroker.

So, He decided to apply for a internship, When he went to take form he left his scanner to a girl singing on street, but she took it and ran away. He took the form and ran after her but couldn't catch her, Next day on his way to sell, he met Dean Witter Reynolds and impressed him by solving a Rubik's cube in the car as they shared the same. After dropping him, he ran from the car cause he had no money to pay him.

Next morning, Linda left him saying that his sister's boyfriend was going to open a new restaurant and they will need her to work there. So, she will be leaving for New York. After that, the owner of house came to give him a last warning to empty the house by tomorrow morning so that they can paint it. He said he would paint it himself and got to live there for 1 week.

When he was painting the police came to arrest him, and he had his interview next morning. He some how managed to get there after staying whole night in prison and cracked the interview. But, he got to know that he was not going to get paid for 6 months. So, asked time to decide.

He was taking his son somewhere where Christopher said the most meaningful words, " there was a person in a boat who was going to drown, he asked god for help. And when a person from ship, asked him if he needed help, he said god will help me and he said same to other. At last, he drowned and died. In Heaven, He asked God why didn't you come to save me, He said I send you two ships dummy."

He decided to go for internship for that he had to sell 6 scanners. He was kicked of his home and then, he had to spent his night in bathroom. In spite of that he showed up next day as if nothing happened.

He took his son to play basketball one day and said " Never let anybody tell you what you can and can't do. You got a dream, You gonna work hard for it, you got to preserve it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want something, go get it.".

He studied hard and did well in his internship.

At last, he finally got that job and That part of his life is called Happiness. He became a successful stock broker and he finally reached economic stability and his desire to give his son a beautiful life was fulfilled.

Therefore , I felt it really is must watch movie. So that everyone can know struggle is the part of life and that won't last forever. One day we will reach stability and become successful, but we should not give and try our best to do whatever we can to change that situation.
