Moments Before Impact
"Flashing Lights and Fading Moments"
Alarms shouted somewhere far off, their noisy cries slicing through the air. smith remained on the walkway, frozen completely still, while a horde of individuals hurried past him, rushing toward the tumult ahead. It was as they didn't actually see him, similar to he was only a shadow behind the scenes.
A tear moved down his cheek, however he scarcely took note. The splendid, blazing lights hurt his eyes as he watched vehicle entryways hammer and paramedics rush to help. He needed to yell, to say something, yet his voice was gone, gobbled up by the commotion around him. The blazes glimmered fiercely, and stressed voices consumed the space.
His head beat with a dull throb. He realized he was harmed, yet he was unable to sort out how. He contacted his face and felt something wet — blood.
His eyes floated to where a few heros were attempting to save his mom, lying still on the ground, doing mouth to mouth. He then saw a heap of rock pouring from a truck, covering a vehicle seat under.
"Are you paying attention to me?" a voice snapped, out of nowhere slicing through his viewpoints.
smith bounced, squinting quickly.
"Are you paying attention to me?" his mom asked once more, sounding irritated as she halted at a red light. His child sister laughed alongside him, not detecting the strain. "Put your safety belt on."
"Mum?" smith murmured, feeling a chill run down his spine.
Vehicles zoomed through the crossing point. smith's eyes got a quick look at a truck speeding toward them, over-burden with development materials. Rock skipped off the street, hitting their vehicle rooftop.
The light become green, and his mom started to drive.
"Mum, stop!" smith hollered, alarm in his voice, making his sister cry.
"smith!" his mom chided, turning around to him. "You frightened her!"
The vehicle moved quicker.
"No, Mum, don't!" smith yelled once more, bouncing from his seat. He got his mom's head, covering her eyes.
She shouted and rammed on the brakes, tossing smith back into his seat.
"What is going on with you?" she wheezed, gazing at him in shock.
Somewhere far off, they heard the shriek of tires and individuals shouting.
Then, a blast shook their vehicle, shaking everything around them.
