Losing weight shouldn't be your main reason for exercising.

Losing weight

By digital productPublished about a year ago 2 min read

Exercise and weight loss have been linked for a very long time. Exercise is typically associated with weight loss when you see or hear about it.

As I became older, it was the same for me.

Since I was in my mid-twenties, I have always linked exercise to weight loss (at the same time, I also began to gain weight rather readily) more than anything else.

However, when you exercise to reduce weight, you're concentrating on the wrong goal, which is fitness, which is the original purpose of exercise.

Exercise can and should be a part of your weight loss regimen, but it shouldn't—and probably won't—be your sole strategy for reaching your weight loss objective.

Because, in all honesty, diet is the most important factor in weight loss.

You won't see any change on the scale no matter how much exercise you do if you don't consume a healthy, balanced diet.

It is comparable to going to the gym and spending half an hour on the treadmill, only to leave and enjoy a quarter-pound cheeseburger, huge fries, and a Coke.

My friend, nothing will change.

If you want to reduce weight, your diet is the most crucial factor.

However, the main goal of exercise should be to improve your overall health, increase your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate), strengthen your core, increase your muscle mass, and increase your stamina.

When working out, that's actually what you should be concentrating on.

Instead of thinking about weight loss while you're at the gym or running, consider it while you're in the kitchen or at the snack section of your grocery store.

The sole objective you should have when working out is to simply get healthier and more fit.

That ought to be your primary motivation for working out.

Exercise can lead to weight loss as long as you maintain a healthy diet and get enough sleep.

I believe it's time for us to shift the focus from weight loss to developing a more fit and healthy version of ourselves.

After all, you would probably be within your optimal or optimum weight range when you were generally healthier and more fit.

Therefore, don't consider or worry about losing weight the next time you work out at home, at the gym, or while running.

Just concentrate on becoming healthier, fitter, and stronger instead.

Because you will start making better dietary choices after you feel stronger, fitter, and healthier.

And once you do, you'll see that, in the end, weight isn't that important.

More important is how you feel on the inside as much as the outside.

Being the healthiest version of yourself every single day is what I would love for you.
