Expectation — this word holds immense meaning, not only for me, but for nearly all living organisms on this Earth. I believe every being in this universe has its own set of expectations, driven by the need for physical and mental growth. Without expectation, there would be no progress in life.
Life fosters a wide array of expectations from its surroundings, shaped by individual needs. Evolution itself is driven by the expectation of interaction with other living beings. Life begins with the inherent expectation of living peacefully and safely. When the need for others to meet our expectations disappears, growth stagnates, and life falters.
In this piece, I’m not expecting to share a grand, brave story with all of you, but I do want to explore the significance of this remarkable word. Sometimes, I wonder why we worry so much about expecting too much from others. But the truth is, no one can survive alone on this planet. Every living being depends on others from birth to death. Motivational speakers often tell us, "Don’t expect too much, or you’ll be hurt when things don’t go your way." Yet the reality is, without expectation, nothing would function on this Earth. Even our planet itself depends on the light from the sun to keep everything in motion!
So, what do we do when our expectations aren’t met by others? We move on. If one source of expectation fails, another will eventually fulfill it. That’s the mantra of life!
