''Day and Night Know Me''
A whisper in dawn’s breath, A shadow in twilight’s fold.
Day and night know me,
I am the thread between their worlds,
A whisper in dawn’s breath,
A shadow in twilight’s fold.
I walk with light and sleep in shade,
A seeker of dreams, awake and afraid.
The dawn arrives on feathered feet,
A painter of skies, a symphony sweet.
Blushes of rose, golden-tipped hue,
The heavens awaken in newborn blue.
Day knows my name; it calls with fire,
A voice that hums with fierce desire.
"Rise," it says, "and breathe with me.
Follow the light, unbend, run free.
Let your hands feel the earth and air,
Build your towers, climb the stairs.
Sing with the wind, dance with the trees,
Catch the warmth riding morning’s breeze."
I follow the day, my heart alight,
A wanderer bathed in boundless sight.
Fields unfold in endless green,
Mountains hum their song serene.
The rivers ripple, silver and wide,
Their currents pull me deep inside.
Yet as I wander, shadows fall,
A slant of light against the wall.
The sun dips low in amber glow,
A curtain descends, soft and slow.
The evening whispers, calm and deep,
A lullaby for stars that sleep.
Night knows me too; it speaks in dreams,
A world of whispers, shadowed streams.
"Come," it calls, "let the darkness bloom,
Wrap yourself in velvet gloom.
Feel the pull of the midnight sea,
A tide of stars, wild and free.
Breathe in the sky, taste the night’s breath,
Lose yourself in the depth of death."
I step through shadows, veiled in dark,
A lantern held by a fleeting spark.
The moon, my guide, with silver tongue,
Tells stories of when the world was young.
Mountains loom like ancient ghosts,
The forests hum with unseen hosts.
Night wears a crown of mystery,
A shroud of time, a whispered plea.
Its voice is soft, its touch is cold,
It speaks of secrets never told.
I linger here, beneath its gaze,
Caught between the stars and haze.
But as I drift in midnight’s flow,
Day calls again, with tender glow.
The edge of dawn, a blade of light,
Cuts through the fabric of the night.
I am the thread between the two,
A weaver of dark, a dancer in blue.
Both know my name, both seek my soul,
Both leave their mark and make me whole.
By light, I run; by dark, I glide,
Both my shadow and my guide.
I am the pulse, the breath, the beat,
The steady rhythm beneath their feet.
Day knows my laughter, loud and wild,
It lifts me up like a careless child.
Night knows my secrets, dark and deep,
It cradles me softly when I weep.
Day is a flame, an endless song,
It makes me strong, it pulls me along.
Night is a whisper, a lover's sigh,
It kisses my fears, it bids them fly.
Together they meet, a fleeting embrace,
A fleeting dance, a fleeting trace.
At dusk, they linger, their fingers entwine,
A moment of magic, a perfect line.
I stand between, a watcher, a friend,
A being of light, a soul without end.
Day and night know me well—
The stories I carry, the tales I tell.
Each breath I take, each step I tread,
Both hold my heart, both share my bed.
They know my tears, my fleeting flame,
They know my soul, they speak my name.
I am neither dark, nor fully bright,
I am a flicker—a dawn in flight.
I am the sigh at evening’s close,
The first soft light when morning glows.
Day and night know me,
Not as a stranger passing by,
But as a child of time and sky.
I am the wind that bends and sways,
The endless thread that weaves their days.
I rise with dawn, I fall with dusk,
I breathe the light, I taste the musk
Of fading stars, of burning skies,
A witness to both truth and lies.
Between their arms, I always stand,
A fleeting soul in shifting sand.
For day and night, they know me well—
A living story they love to tell.
So call me shadow, call me light,
A song that hums through day and night.
Call me dawn’s first gentle beam,
Or midnight’s wild and fleeting dream.
Day and night know me true,
A soul of fire, a breath of dew.
Forever dancing, always free—
For day and night, they both know me.
