Book Spotlight: The Union of Shadows by Emma Bradley
a Book Bloggers’ Novel of the Year Award (BBNYA) 2024 semi-finalist

As Lord of the Court of Illusions, Kainen Hemlock is determined to redeem himself after the War of Queens. But having to dodge an arranged marriage wasn't part of the plan.
Reyan Roseglade is determined to keep her head down until she can buy her freedom from service at Kainen's court. But pretending to be his future bride so he doesn't have to marry someone else wasn't what she had in mind.
Then the Holly Queen asks for their help. Reyan agrees to use her shadow-merging gift to investigate a disturbance in the fabric of Faerie, but soon Kainen has his own plans for her future.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Emma lives on the UK south coast with her plant collection and a very lazy black Labrador who occasionally condescends to take her out for a walk. Aside from creative writing studies, an addiction to cereal and spending far too much time procrastinating on social media, Emma is still waiting for the arrival of her unicorn. Or a tank, she's not fussy.

If you fancy a short read, I have a cozy reimagining of the Norse myths about Hel, but it's just under 70 pages and can be read in one sitting. ✨ Plus there's a swag kit coming soon! Includes a "membership card," a bookmark, a sticker, an origami dog, and an exclusive 500-word story 🫶🏼

All things end, and all must die.
But death is not always the end.
When Geiravor Lokisdottir was stripped of her name and cast out of Asgard, torn from her family and the life she had known, she thought she’d lost it all. But in the shadows of Niflheim she discovers the path to her destiny, and what it truly means to be queen.
This is a prequel short story to THE PROPHECIES OF RAGNAROK trilogy by Meri Benson and Marie Sinadjan, and a retelling of the myths involving Hel, the Norse goddess of death and the queen of the underworld.
