The reason I received a gift from Santa Claus was because I asked my mother a strange question. I remember that day, I saw the little match girl on TV freezing to death on Christmas Eve, and I cried and asked my mother: "What is Christmas?" My mother touched my little head and told me: "Christmas is a very beautiful festival in the West. On that night, a little old man wearing a red coat, a red hat, red boots, and a white beard will ride a sleigh pulled by deer, carrying a big bag of gifts, and quietly give them to all the children." "Will he give me a gift too?" "Of course, he will put the gift in the socks prepared in advance at the head of your bed." As a result, on Christmas Day of that year, I really received a gift from Santa Claus. On Christmas morning of that year, as soon as I opened my eyes, I lifted the quilt to look at the socks prepared under the bed. It was the most beautiful sock, bulging with all kinds of gifts. There was also a Christmas tree full of various mini ornaments next to the bed. I shouted to my mother happily: "Mom, Mom, look, Santa Claus has given me a gift." I carefully took out the gift from the sock, a Christmas card rolled into a cylinder, on which there was a kind Santa Claus, a cute deer car and my favorite Dove chocolate. My mother was also happy that I received so many gifts, and said to thank Santa Claus quickly. In a blink of an eye, I have passed 6 Christmases. The strange thing is that I will receive gifts from Santa Claus quietly every Christmas.I spent Christmas in 2016 in boarding school. This was the first time I left my mother to study abroad. On Christmas Eve, I lay in bed and thought about the previous Christmases. I laughed in my quilt. After thinking about it, I sat up again, found a sock as beautiful as in previous years, put it on the other side of the bed, and then I slept peacefully. But when I got up the next morning, I saw only the lonely socks and the busy figures of my classmates. I felt lost in my heart, as if everything was really understood. That night I received a call from my mother. "Hello, Mom!" "Hello, dear baby, I have good news for you, Santa Claus has sent you a present!" I burst out laughing on the other end of the phone. "Maybe Santa Claus didn't know you went to middle school and couldn't find you, so he sent the present to Mom. Guess what it is, haha, a book, your favorite "Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales"! "In fact, I knew what Christmas was last year, but I didn't have the heart to reveal this beautiful fairy tale-like lie. At that moment, my smiling eyes were filled with tears, and I felt so happy. That night, four deer walked into my dream, dragging a sleigh full of love, and a string of warm bells filled with maternal love rang out.
