A Dream Realized

From Dreams to Reality: A Journey of Hope and Perseverance

By houda ennajyPublished 2 months ago 2 min read

About three months ago, I was sitting at my desk, immersed in my new story. I typed with my heart, living every moment as if I were one of my characters. Suddenly, a notification popped up from my friend Lana:

"Reem, my dear, I’m so proud of you. You’ve made your dream come true."

I stared at the message, confused. “What dream? I don’t understand…” I replied.

Moments later, she sent me a link. I clicked it—and there it was: my story, published a month ago on Noor Library, had surpassed three thousand views and a thousand comments filled with encouraging words, praise, and even requests to turn it into a printed book. Shocked, I couldn’t process it. I checked Wattpad next—and saw countless more readers.

I sat there in disbelief. The dream I had held onto for years, the one I almost abandoned in moments of doubt, was finally coming true.

That night, I went to bed with my phone in hand, reading comments back and forth between Wattpad and Noor. Each word sparked hope and fueled my determination to continue my journey toward becoming a published author, with my books on library shelves across the Arab world.

Then, a message arrived on Instagram—from a major publishing house, offering to publish and print my novel. After carefully researching to avoid scams, and praying Istikhara, I said yes.

Now, I stand at the book fair, signing copies of my novel for every reader who came to buy it, always leaving a small note of encouragement, just as others had inspired me. After finishing, I gazed at the shelf filled with works by great authors—and there, among them, was my book. My friend snapped a photo, and I shared it on Instagram with a quote from my story:

"Whatever you dream of, you will reach it… whether today, tomorrow, or a year from now. Trust in God. Trust in yourself. And whenever hope feels lost, turn to Him."

Here I am, taking a photo with my dream—a dream once mocked, now a reality. It wasn’t easy. I struggled, I stumbled, I fell. But I never stayed down. I rose, and I ran again toward my goal.

You can do the same. Chase your dream. Believe in God. Believe in yourself.
