Celebrate National Lipstick Day

Pucker up! So, are you ready to rock your favorite lip color? Today is National Lipstick Day. From sheer to bold, this beauty holiday is a blast to celebrate.
Pucker Up
Of course, most women won’t leave their house without putting on lipstick.
Did you know the first people to put on lipstick were most likely the Ancient Sumerians? At the same time, crushed gemstones were used to decorate their lips as well as their eyes and faces. Furthermore, this caught on in China, and they used beeswax. And, in Ancient Greece, many individuals used berry-derived dyes on their lips.
Since that time, popularity has grown.
In the 16th century in England, many individuals had plain white faces and had bright crimson lips.
In the 19th century, the first commercial lipstick was made of castor oil and deer tallow, and beeswax was made in France.
During World War II, lipstick was scarce. Due to this, lipstick started to be packaged in paper and plastic tubes. The first long-lasting lipstick was invented during this time.
Fast forward to the 20th century, and lipstick exploded. Though colors were limited in the early 20th century, each decade brought on new colors.
Indeed, today lipstick has grown.
So, are you ready to shop for some new lipsticks?
