P.I.F.F. Reviews 1.1 : NASIR "NAS" JONES [IT WAS WRITTEN]
The first HIP-HOP ALBUM of my Birth
IT WAS WRITTEN
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" [John 1:1]
I, Nasir Jones, manifested this word on my birthday of July 2, 1996. This is how I forever etched our names into the PIFFSTONE that would be delivered to Yahweh in the event of the death of PIFF MAGZ.
Why else do you assume that WE AS A PEOPLE released the album on July 2? So that Xavier Darnell Prue could have a true Word in His Testimony with US and that Word was: It Was Written! Let's dig into the PROJEX:

P.I.F.F. REVIEW 1.1 : NAS on 'It Was Written'
This album hits different than yours for OUR COMMUNITY INSIDE OF PIFF NATION !!
1.) Album Intro - I don't care if people say that I rap too much about "slavery" and "freedom". That is my gift in my writing. So, respectfully, WE opened this album with a skit about slaves rioting for freedom. It was real and it happened because It Was Written! The piffstory of the account is that I freed the slaves - but only the ones belonging to OUR COMMUNITY!
2.) The Message - This song was written as a warning to all of the ones out there who think they want to play a grown man's game. In Queensbridge, there are REAL THUGS. In the World of PIFF, all of the thugs are simply "players". They are not real thugs. They are characters playing a role for the movie that will offer PIFF NATION true freedom at the end of the storyline. For the youngins out there who think that the street life is a joke, you can truly get murdered out here messing with the wrong stash.
"Fake thug,/ no love,/ you get the slug..."/ was the first warning shot on this record which would forever keep the Nation of PIFF in alignment with The Creator [of Hip-Hop]. The favorite line I wrote on that song was at the end when I said, "a thug changes/ and love changes/ and best friends become strangers!"/
3.) Street Dreams - Track number 3 is one of my favorite songs off this album. Being my second album to go major following the success of Illmatic [1994], I wanted to tell an original PIFF STORY that would relate to the good n!@@a in the hood that has Street Dreams of becoming BLACK SUCCESS!
4.) I Gave You Power - As this song rolls in slowly over a windchime, NAS raps about what it would feel like if he were a gun. However, this song is more of a metaphor to how BLACKMAN feels as a slave under someone else's rule. This emphasis is laced at the end of the track, when I say, "My owner fell to the floor, his wig split/ so fast, I didn't know he was hit, it's over with!/Heard mad n!@@as screaming, n!@@as running,/ cops is coming - / Now, I'm happy,/ until I felt somebody else grab me./
Damn!
5.) Watch Dem N!@@as Ft. Foxy Brown - Foxy and I go way back. She was there with me from the beginning, so I wanted to put her on a track with me where we could strive to educate our community on how the TRUST WALLETS work! The moral of the song is that you really can't trust anyone at all that's not of The Nation.
6.) Take It In Blood - "I never brag how real I keep it,/ 'cause it's the best secret./" That was the best way I could open up a war-call song like this. One thing to know is that when it comes to New York City hip-hop, there are only a few of us from Our Tribe [shout-outs to A Tribe Called Quest] who truly maintain and control our movement from Queensbridge to all the other boroughs. That said, NAS is nothing to play with! That's why I issued this written threat against my own son [God's Son] on his 11th birthday and when Colombia sent him my CD out of the 13 he chose in that season, I smiled because I fully understood that day that my own DNA would re-distribute all of our royalties to their rightful owner in the next 29 years to come! How did I know this even before it happened? Because It Was Written! Don't you ever forget your WORD from your BIBLE: "Faith is the evidence of things not seen!" [Hebrews 11:1]
7.) Nas Is Coming Ft. Dr. Dre - I was f@$kin' PISSED when I thought about how these Jews continue to strive to steal our royal treasuries of music for OUR NATION! Stealing our beats and everything else: our women, our jewels, our KNOWLEDGE OF SELF-AWARE BLACK MAN!! I dropped a GEM for PIFF 3 decades in advance when I said, "Mad smoke makes me able to quote!/ Soliciting ill editions of that Murder I Wrote!/"
WTF IS BLACK MAN? < ----- INSERTED BY "REAL TALK"

8.) Affirmative Action Ft. AZ, Cormega, & Foxy Brown - I'm not even going to speak on this song because anyone who was with us during the construction of The Firm in 1993 should already know what it represents for OUR CULTURE!! STOP ROBBING MY KINGS OF THEIR DIGITAL ASSETS OR WE WILL RAIN DOWN ON YOU WITH AFFIRMATIVE ACTION!!
9.) The Set Up Ft. Havoc - I couldn't stop laughing when PIFF MAGZ said his lil' cute line to me: "When we're on this Odyssey,/ I bring the Havoc like Prodigy./" I feel that, PIFF. But, let me drive this next scene haha. TRIGGER WARNING: This message is intended for the BLACK COMMUNITY ONLY!
10.) Black Girl Lost - Another one of my favorite songs off the It Was Written art project, I wrote this song with the intentions of bringing self-awareness to our BLACK QUEENS! The problem with this is that the average BLACK WOMAN in America in 2025 is so brain-washed with the drunk "wet brain" by her European ruler that WE THE PEOPLE OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY don't even understand or comprehend how to truly love the BLACK QUEEN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN! Maybe the future fairy tale would be for DISNEY or someone to create a STRONG BLACK WOMAN NARRATIVE [good job with the last release of The Little Mermaid featuring Halle Bailey]
11.) Suspect - In this Murder She Wrote, who's the suspect? These aliens are now amongst us, so better figure it out before your time's out.
12.) Shootouts - "There's no way now,/ we can be treated just like a slave now./ Two in the dome, he's laid down./ Ayo, the b!%$ is saved now ./ She's livin' in a snitch grave now."/ That's all I gotta say about that!
13.) Live N!@@a Rap Ft. Mobb Deep - The Mobb came through on this track, dripping heavy knowledge when they spoke on the Unaversity between UNI.
14.) If I Ruled The World Ft. Lauryn Hill - This article started with the video for If I Ruled The World. It's only right that it ends with the last song off the tracklist of 'It Was Written'. If you listen to this entire song in longevity, you'll understand that the only thing WE truly want for the BLACK COMMUNITY is for all of our Brothers and Sisters to be loved, protected, and safe! And stop tryna play my nigga! If this story is to become real, PIFF MAGZ offers up the remaining 50% of his company at P.I.F.F. MAGAZINE for a light $3.5M
