Recently, I have been trying to clear my skin up since my sister's wedding is this week. While at Walmart, I found a cheap, one-time use mask that claimed to remove oil from my face. I have combination skin- oily in some places, and dry in other places (such as around my lips). So I figured, "Hey, why not?" Today after washing my face with a natural exfoliant scrub that St. Ives makes, I dried my face and applied the mask. The directions say to apply to face and neck, and there is definitely plenty of product in the package to do so if you desire. I decided to just apply it a little more thickly.
The smell was interesting. The mask itself was supposedly made with blue lotus, which may explain the smell. Have you ever had a blue raspberry Dum Dum sucker? Because that is exactly what the mask smelled like. Which is different from other masks I have used in the past. Other masks I have used have either had an earthy smell or no smell at all. So that was definitely odd.
The directions also told me to let it dry, which in my experience you NEVER let a clay/ mud mask dry. Alas, I still followed the directions and let it dry. After letting it dry, I ran some warm water over a washcloth and used the washcloth to remove the mask. I must say, a lot of the oil was extracted using the mask. I have used the "Freeman" brand before, and I haven't been overly impressed. The peel-off "pore removing" mask I used last week didn't do much (that I noticed) either.
Honestly? I don't think I will use this brand ever again. The product doesn't do what it says every time, and there are other products out there that work much more effectively for what you need to be done. However, if you have bad acne, or want to clear up your skin, I would suggest talking to a dermatologist and/or esthetician. I visited with one in an Ulta store, and they were able to recommend some products that would help my skin clear out. The only reason I am breaking out now is that I am using a product with parabens in it (Mario Badescu), and my skin is having a reaction to it.
So, in summary, would I buy this product again? Nope. For what it did do, I don't think it's worth buying again. (No matter how cheap a product is, money is money.) I am hoping that by sharing this, you can read this and make your own decision on whether or not to buy the product.
The following is to make the word count for being able to post on vocal.media: Words. What are words? Do we use kind words or do we use unfamiliar and cruel words? What words do we tell ourselves? Do we use the same words on ourselves as we do with our close friends? Imagine the person you respect and admire the most. How would you talk to them? What words would you use? Do you use those same words when you think in your most innermost thoughts? Or are we our own worst critic, using the cruelest words on ourselves? Do our words spread positivity? Or do our words demean and break everybody down to their lowest level? Do our words touch light sunlight, or do they pierce like a sword? Words. Which words so you choose to use? Uplifting or discouraging? If we built a house with our words, would it be beautiful with a sturdy foundation, or would it be a desolate plot of land? Use words to uplift and brighten.
