Let's delve into the dirt that clogs our pores and discover some fantastic fall skincare exfoliation products. As fall quickly approaches, it is the perfect time to scrub off that summertime skin. These four fall skincare exfoliating products are tested and tried by yours truly.

Top 4 Fall Skincare Exfoliators

Dust and dirt build up in skin pores every day. Cleansing your skin twice a day is a no-brainer. Exfoliation is often a forgotten, but vital, key in your full-body skincare routine. These four fall skincare products will help you shed your summer skin and maintain healthy, exfoliated skin all year.

It is not just about scrubbing away dead skin cells. Major keys to exfoliation are alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), which are naturally occurring acids that are often marketed to improve skin texture and reduce fine lines. AHAs cause the skin to shed the top layer of cells, and are found in most exfoliation products. In addition to cleansing daily, a gentle facial exfoliator should be a part of your skincare routine 2-3 times a week.

Microdermabrasion products are awesome for removing dead skin cells. These are used after cleansing. Be sure to follow instructions. Some should be used weekly, while others can be used more often. Over-exfoliating can strip the skin of essential oils and cause dryness.

SkinMedica's Exfoliating Cleanser

This gentle cleanser with four AHAs is fairly affordable and perfect for everyday use. The combination of lactic, glycolic, citric, and malic acids provides a mild, citrus scent and works together to minimize large pores by gently clearing away the dirt from the day.

Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant

This exfoliator is rice-based with AHAs, papain, and salicylic acid, and is gentle enough to use every day. Just a little bit goes a long way. The powder is activated by water, so be careful when pouring it out of the bottle. This is the perfect addition to your fall skincare routine as the seasons change.

Bella & Bear Ocean Spray Body Scrub

There is no better way to shake off summer skin than scrubbing down with a full-body salt or sugar scrub. If you are not quite ready to let go of the smells of summer, this brings you back to summer at the beach. Perfect for the bath or the shower, this scrub creates luxurious suds while naturally exfoliating. The company creates an array of exfoliating products in fun scents and colors, also making them a good gift shop.

Paula's Choice Skin Revealing Body Lotion

This is my favorite exfoliating body lotion to use at least twice a week. This lotion provides full-body exfoliation and moisture, minus the grit. The AHA glycolic acid and antioxidants remove dead skin cells and moisturize without any scrubbing. The only downside is that the smell is a bit chemically, so I like mixing a few drops of essential oil in with it. This works really well to smooth bumps on your arms and legs.

So Long Summer Skin

Even though summer is coming to an end and you may no longer be basking on the beach, be sure to always wear SPF. Protecting your skin is especially key after exfoliating. A light SPF lotion like e.l.f. Cosmetic's Holy Hydration! Face Cream with SPF 30 will protect your beautiful skin during all seasons. These four fall skincare exfoliation products will help you easily scrub off your summer skin, but should be used all year to keep your skin glowing and healthy.
