A Welcome Makeup Mystery
IPSY welcome bag review from a non makeup person.
The bag is strong in the adhesive department for sure, I had to take scissors to the top to open it. Inside I find the cute little IPSY bag they sent and the extra welcome goodie was what looks to be a very nice makeup brush of sorts. So in this cute little bag came five other little products that I will be doing a little review on today.
The first thing I do is take bag out and open it up. The first product out is the Anastasia Beverly Hills lip gloss mini in Moon Jelly. As soon as I opened the bottle I got this sent that I can only describe as a fragrance of Christmas sugar cookie lotion I got several years ago which to me was an amazing thing. This is a mostly clear gloss with a little purple to blue simmer in it as well. From what I have seen on it most like to layer it on top of another lip product to give a more glossy and shinny look to them. On its own I find it to be quite a nice gloss that I would were out and about on its own because it does feel tacky or sticky just like was promised in the description. A normal full size of this product can go for $16.
The second thing out of the bag was a TATCHA product called The Deep Clean. This did wonders for my skin. I have combo skin one day I can be as dry as the desert and the next have so much oil its not even funny. I used this at the end of the day when I noticed of oily areas on my face returning and this cleared them up amazingly. It works into a nice lather on the wet skin and really leaves a clean feeling afterwards. A normal full size of this product can go for $38.
Next to come out to play was the Glow Recipe Banana Souffle´ Moisture Cream. Now I will be up front I am not a big banana person bread yes the fruit itself no. While there is a small smell of banana it is not over powering which was quite nice. I am also someone who is very tac tile based so I’m going to be honest the texture freaks me out a little but that didn’t stop me from trying this product. I think it does a really good job of feeling cool to the skin and the best part was it didn’t leave a residue feeling on my skin either. A normal full size of this product can go for $39.
The last product in my welcome bag was the EYEKO Rock Out and Lash Out Mascara in Carbon Black. Now i am not a mascara person unless it is for a formal event in my life. Thankfully I was blessed with my families long eyelashes so much so when I put mascara on my lashes touch my glasses if I’m not careful. That being said wand on this brand looks amazing for adding length to lashes and having felt the product on the back of my hand I have no doubt it can deliver the “No hassle drama, tons of volume, and major pigmentation…” it promises. A normal full size of the product can go for $26.
The brush I got was a bones gift and is A Perfect 10 by MOTD. Now I have no idea what that means because I don’t speak this langue of brush to operator yet. The good news is that with all this stuff IPSY did me a solid and sends a little manual is what I’ll call it telling me a little of what all this stuff is supposed to do. So apparently this brush is good for multi tasking the thing like bronzer, foundation powder, contour, highlighter and blush (good grief the only two things know the bare minimum of if blush and foundation). Tis brush in normally $22.
The bag everything came in is reusable and a cute size that is perfect for someone who might be like me. Knows little about make up and travels with what some might call less than bare minimum. And I got it all for $12 in mini travel size this seems like it might be fun now.
Hope to see you next time -
Grace
