Wolves

Woefully Painful to Watch.

"Wolves" just isn't good! Stars George Clooney (Michael Clayton) and Brad Pitt star in a ridiculous silly movie about a cleaner, or fixer, if you will. What makes "Wolves" so bad is not as much as the weak story, but the stupid banter between Pitt and Clooney.

The movie starts out in a hotel room where a powerful, high profile woman, Amy Ryan (Margaret) has a dead young man in his room, or so we think. The kid is Austin Abrams who needs some more acting lessons before he tries another Apple TV movie. As the plot unfolds, you get a sense that this may or may not be good. Twenty minutes into the movie you are sure that this movie sucks!

Not only is the plot the problem, but so too is the way Pitt and Clooney go about their acting in it. Blame director Jon Watts if you like, however, it was a very lackluster performance by both aforementioned actors. To say the money is lazy is an understatement!

As the movie progresses from place to place, scene to scene in New York City, the plot gets more degenerated. The two, Pitt and Clooney are competing cleaners; each doesn't want to show the other how they fix and clean. Each thinks that they are the best, when in reality I wouldn't let these two clean my bathroom! "Wolves" has no edge too it. Where a "Michael Clayton" had edge in this genre, as did "Pulp Fiction", "Wolves" is never believable in any sense. Clooney never gives the raw energy like he did in "Clayton"... here he is a buffoon. Even Pitt who plays a major buffoon in "Burn After Reading" was flat and ineffective.

Clooney and Pitt, while being billed at times as great actors are only fair actors in my opinion. Even though Pitt has an Oscar, he too is limited in his talents; the movies he plays in are well suited for him; his range is never challenged. Like "Up in The Air" Clooney is able to pass off his usual delivery style, but here his usual is not good enough. This can be passed off as a writing problem and a directing problem, but it seems to me that both actors took this gig to get a pay check.

Like "Wolves", many of the Apple streaming, the Netflix streaming are a mish mosh of garbage. Movies are thrown together, they are lazy, and unprofessional at times. In "Leave the World Behind", a movie produced by the Obama's, was just as awful as "Wolves". When you have people producing movies that were never in the business, things go wrong, terribly wrong; and we the subscribers have to pay for this shit!

As Hollywood studios are hurting due to the lack of people going to the movies, studios like Apple, Netflix and other indie studios are popping up. They are searching for money people, people who want their names on movies. Like off off Broadway showcases, the movies are done cheaply, unprofessionally and with lousy plots to them.

I would like to say that "Wolves" is one of the worst movies I have seen this year, but I say "get in line". So many awful movies have come out both on Netflix and Apple that I could not even begin to name them all.

In a interview the other day, Stephan Baldwin brought up Leonardo Di Caprio. He said that DiCaprio was a bad actor. Asked if his brother was a better actor he gave a snide remark and then said yes, that he was. While Alec Baldwin is both a good stage and movie actor, DiCaprio is an Academy Award winner. For Stephan Baldwin to criticize an A List actor is absurd. Stephan Baldwin was always a hack- B-Actor.

In the interview Baldwin comes off as very arrogant, know-it-all ish. In fact, in past interviews with any of the Baldwin's, they all come off that way making it difficult to like any of them as people. The Baldwin's always have an opinion, but they never really articulate very well why they feel the way they do. They just spew things with no reasoning behind their answers. Maybe they don't know the answers, or maybe they're just stupid people.

Hollywood, Broadway, Alec Baldwin, Stephan Baldwin, Leonardo Di Caprio, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Mayor Adams, Barack Obama, New York City.
