Tylar Smith set to release his next single "Free"

Tylar Smith is an emerging young singer, songwriter, and artist from Sydney, Australia. Tylar delivers a powerful, smooth, and soulful voice.

THERE, released in July 2020, is the first single from the upcoming debut album from Tylar Smith.

Tylar's next song, FREE, is being released on August the 21st. This rising artist maintains a fully charged arsenal of high-quality music that supports the fact that he is the next force in the industry.

What first got you into music?

I have loved music and singing since I was very young. I sang at my Grandfathers funeral when I was about 6 years old and then started singing lessons and I haven’t looked back.

Do you play any instruments?

I wouldn’t say I’m very good at it, but I can play the piano.

Do you have a chosen genre?

I wouldn’t say I had a chosen genre, I love all different kinds of music. Its really the lyrics and the story that speaks to me so when I’m making my own music that is what my focus is on.

Is “There” your first release?

THERE is my second release. I released my first song in January of this year called THE ASHES. I wrote and released the song with the help of WOWCiTY MUSIC to try and raise money to help in the fight against the bushfires which at the time had destroyed a huge part of Australia. My second single THERE came out in July and my next song FREE comes out on the 21st of August 2020.

Tell us a little something about your soon to be released song “FREE”.

FREE is a song about those times we all have when were facing problems and we just want to fly away but we can't and we have to stay and fight. Its got a rock vibe to it and I had lots of fun recording it and doing the video so I hope everyone will like it.

Do you write your own music, or do you collaborate?

I have written all the lyrics to my songs with the help of my manager Nathan Large and we've worked with a few different composers for the tracks that will go on my first album.

Is there any hidden meanings in your music?

I wouldn’t say there is any hidden meanings in my songs, but every song is up to the individuals interpretation as to what it means anyway, but am I putting hidden meanings in there? I don’t think so, not yet anyway.

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

We just wing it! Nah, Im just kidding. I think every song needs planning. A lot of hard work goes into making a song so I feel, and from what I have learned, planning is the best option.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

When I was younger I would get really nervous but the more I have performed the less nervous I am before going on stage. Now I get more focused on doing a good job and having a good time.

Other than fame & fortune, is there something you hope to achieve through music?

I just really want to be singing and making music for the rest of my life. Make a living out of music, that’s my ultimate goal.

Would you like to travel to other countries to perform your music? If so, what would be your first stop?

I would go anywhere and everywhere!

Tell about a magical moment or positive experience that has happened during your music career.

Making Music videos is fun. I would say definitely making the music video for “FREE” was fun.

What music do you listen to ‘for fun’?

It will sound crazy cause I am only 13 years old but I love to listen to a lot of the older music. I don’t mind some of the new music but I really connect with a lot of older music.

Who inspires you musically?

I know how much hard work goes into making music so they ALL have my respect.

If one artist were to perform at your party, who would get the call?

If it’s a paid gig I’ll do it myself, lol.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Always work hard and never listen to the haters.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted sharing your music?

Massively. Other than live music, it’s the biggest and probably only way to get your music out there.
