Workout Playlist #2

By Sharee savPublished 5 years ago 3 min read

Work out playlist #2 is my happy mood playlist. Its for the days when im already bouncing around excitedly and dont need a pick me up to remind me why I started my workout goals to begin with. All of the songs are older and more about personal excitement than beats or harmony. The memories of jumping, dancing, singing, and rapping along with this music in my past is enough to hype me up during my workout. So taking a very short ride down memories lane my first song on the playlist is Skrillex's First Of The Year. It gives me a chance to start off steady and build myself up for a nice positive session. Its an oldie but nothing has ever been made quite like it. Next up would be Imagine dragons- radioactive. This one also has a nice mellow start allowing me my 26 seconds of rest and then BOOM! The beat with this song helps me with my reps and I can actually move to the beat. I go full throttle until the end. I do a lot of cardio and hiit sessions so upbeat and fun types of songs are needed.

The next song on my list is purely for humorous motivation. During this part of my workout im usually winded and having to talk myself through continuing on. So its quite hilarious to hear him screaming maybe I should cry for help while im crazily whining aloud to no one in particular about how I want to give up. This one is also fun and upbeat which allows me to enjoy my workout.

After, against popular opinion, I continue on with Cardi B and Migos. While these songs are pretty fast paced, they aren't as fun and upbeat as the others. I listen to them whether im working out or driving around the city. I instantly get hype when these songs come on so they definitely push me through the last segment of my work out. They are a few of my personal favorites which keep me in a good mood and allows me to dance and try and breathlessly rap along during my rest times.

My very last song has to be Post Malone. I mean the guys screaming congratulations through the song, so why not? Right? The beat is great to give me a hard finish, it adds to my happiness of getting through my workout, and the words coincide with how people usually start acting when you start doing better; or in my case looking better lol! Instead of laying on the ground in misery thinking of how I have to do this all again tomorrow; Im jumping around my living room belting the lyrics in excitement and motivation. Ending with this song is a constant reminder of my finish line. This playlist is for those days where im in a great mood and dont need my pick me up/positive work out list. When its all about enjoyment and being able to see the end that im so happily striving for. Everyones playlist is more about them and their goals and what they want to achieve. Not all playlists are filled with fast paced jumping music because its not about the song itself its about how the song makes you feel. So if Aerosmith makes you feel like you can kill off 20 burpees without stopping then thats just what should be on your list. Music is personal and not everyone feels the same when listening to a particular song which means my playlist is not for you just as your playlist may not be for me. Your work out playlist is like an essential, packed away in your back pack, being carried along on your journey to a healthier you.

They said I wouldn't be nothing

Now they always say congratulations

Worked so hard forgot how to vacation

They ain't never had the dedication

People hatin', say we changed and look we made it .
