The Feeling I Call You

A song to Hum or sing

By simplicityPublished 10 months ago Updated 10 months ago 1 min read

I can never see past the feeling
The feeling I call you

I've been simply living
Living to get by,
drifting,
adrift,
searching for my why
That's until you came and gave me some good reason
A reason to call you mine

Strawberry kisses,
with a Carmel hazelnut coffee side
We call that a good morning guide
the rest we can only hope to take in stride

I got a lot of genius up inside me
But as I say, thats just where it dwells before it dies
so many things, so many seasons, so many moments that make me cry, So many words unexpressed
So many times to try and write off in reply
And you, God knows how I've tried

You are and arn't the world
when I'm curled up along your thigh
So we can try to say it in our own way, try to say a permanent goodbye
never on the same page and some how that's just okay
Because once it'd be over, our performance would just reprise

You could always see past the feeling
It's all always hidden in those eyes
You see me in some picture
A picture I've tried to erase a thousand times
Restored by a memory,
a memory of a future where you've stuck us in your time

I'm hiding in this picture,
Nothing more than a fixture,
except to the few anointed with the view
a very few
Confidently, I know you were one who always knew

I could never see past the feeling
The feeling I call you

mercurial to the bone
A tone like music we can set
bet however passively or actively,
you know exactly what you do

Tell me I have a feeling
A feeling you call me

Give me my affirmations
Nah, my needed confirmations

I could never see past the feeling
The feeling I call you

It's just that thing we do

I could never see past the feeling
The feeling I call you
