Looking for a Place to Celebrate Christmas? There are plenty of places, whether you like the cold Winter or a nice Summer getaway.
Christmas is only 22 days away. Whether you are alone for the holidays or a family celebrating the holiday season, consider taking your celebration outside wherever you call home. Christmas destinations located across the country, means you're only a road trip away from a memorable holiday. From sunny shores to winterscapes there are several places that could be considered the best places to go for Christmas.
New York City
There is nothing like Christmas in New York City. The snowscape city decorated with twinkling lights and trees as you shop for last-minute gifts or sip hot cocoa through Central Park. It is really an experience everyone should have at least once in their life. You can experience holiday traditions, like the Christmas Spectacular and the Radio City Rockettes and the popular holiday markets.
Stowe, Vermont
Stowe, Vermont has become a popular ski destination among East Coasters and one of the most picturesque places to go for Christmas. Stowe is within driving distance of several major cities. The ski season starts around November and is an ideal place for those who are looking for a white Christmas or other outdoor activities. The Lodge at Spruce Peak is a popular destination for breathtaking mountain views and ski-in/ski-out access.
Bavaria, Germany
You can't beat a Christmas holiday vacation in the picturesque region of Southern Germany. Start your holiday in Munich, sipping mulled wine as you explore the historic city. Then explore the fairytale town of Rothenburg or go skiing in the German side of the Alps. Keep your eyes out for the frightening Christmas beast Krampus.
Rovaniemi, Finland
If you are looking for a new destination for your holiday, why not travel to Santa Claus's hometown. Rovaniemi is home to Santa Claus Village and SantaPark, where you can find Santa and his reindeer, along with other festive activities. During the winter, the landscape is covered in snow and you even have a chance to witness the stunning Northern Lights. There are several local hotels that offer glass igloo accommodations offering views of the northern lights right from your own room.
Florida Keys
Lets admit it, not everyone wants to experience a cold Christmas Day. So why not take a trip down to the Florida Keys. They are an ideal escape for those looking to spend the holiday season at a beach destination. Consider taking a road trip to the famous Key West, stopping at various islands along the way. December is the perfect time to visit the beautiful islands, and consider a stay at Sunset Key Cottages. There's no better place in the United States to celebrate Christmas than the nation's capital. There are so many incredible things to see and do during the holiday season, and many are free. You can escape to the Smithsonian museums to escape the cold weather. You can bundle up and take a stroll through the National Zoo or along the National Mall and enjoy the holiday decorations. '20/20'
"Do It Again" the track that would ultimately open the Beach Boys final album on Capitol Records which was released on February 10th 1969 had originally been released as a single in August of 1968. The track was the first of many post-Pet Sounds era throwbacks to the early Beach Boys sound which would become continually more cliched and eventually lead the Beach Boys to the level of self-parody they would eventually succumb to in the 1980s while their closest contemporaries The Beatles nearing the end of their run in 1969 would go on to be viewed as the most influential band of all time. However, the song itself is not bad on its surface, and it opens with a futuristic sounding (for 1969) drumbeat captured by then-Beach Boys engineer Stephen Desper using tape delays on the drums performed by Dennis Wilson and John Guerin. The song has been re-recorded numerous times over the years on various Beach Boys-related projects most notably the 2011 re-recording at Capitol studios featuring the five surviving Beach Boys at the time backed instrumentally by various members of both the Brian Wilson Band and Mike Loves touring "Beach Boys" to promote the then upcoming Beach Boys 50th Anniversary reunion tour in 2012. The hammering and power drill sound at the end of the song was an excerpt from a track called "Workshop" that was to be a part of the uncompleted "SMiLE" album.
