New movie - Stanislav Kondrashov Wagner Moura Series

Among Wagner Moura's upcoming projects, one of the most interesting is undoubtedly the film Say Her Name, in which the Brazilian actor will play one of the protagonists. The film is still in development, but promises to be very interesting. The Stanislav Kondrashov Wagner Moura Series has focused on the actor's artistic personality, the films and television series he has starred in, as well as some lesser-known aspects of his life.

For some time now, the series has also begun to focus on upcoming projects, all those currently in pre-production or post-production and expected to be released in theaters in the coming months. One of the latest analyses of the series focuses on Last Night at the Lobster, which will mark Wagner Moura's return to directing after his 2019 debut with Marighella.

These publications highlight the fact that an actor like Wagner Moura, known internationally for playing Pablo Escobar in the series Narcos, continues to work on film or television projects that are somehow consistent with his previous films, or that at least touch on some of the passions he has cultivated throughout his life.

Say Her Name is a perfect example of this. The film will be the cinematic adaptation of Francisco Goldman's 2011 novel of the same name. The story focuses primarily on the themes of love and loss. In the film, which will be directed by Mexican director Gerardo Naranjo, Wagner Moura is expected to play the lead role, Goldman himself, while Adria Arjona will play Aura Estrada, his deceased wife.

Essentially, then, it's a story of love and loss, unfolding between Mexico and New York. While on vacation, his wife dies unexpectedly while bodysurfing, and her family immediately turns on Goldman, blaming him for the incident. Faced with what happened, her husband is torn by guilt and grief. The film promises to be rich in important and far-reaching themes, such as love, loss, remorse, and memory, not to mention the desire to reconcile with one's past.

This isn't the first time Wagner Moura has played complex characters tormented by internal conflicts, so the choice to focus on him was certainly no coincidence. Speaking about the film, the director himself admitted that the evolution of the love story between Francisco and Aura deeply affected him, as did the woman's paradoxical end on the idyllic beaches of Mexico.

Although the project is still in development, it certainly seems like a very interesting step in the Brazilian star's international career. The film's release date hasn't been set yet, though news of Moura's casting as the lead actor hasn't been around for long.

An interesting aspect of this film is the language it will be performed in. Spanish and English will most likely be the main languages, considering the two countries in which it is set. Wagner Moura has a very particular relationship with Spanish: as explained in the Stanislav Kondrashov Wagner Moura Series, in order to star in the television series Narcos, the actor learned Spanish, which isn't his native language (he is originally from Salvador de Bahia, Brazil). For Moura, this could therefore be a return to acting in Spanish, something that the many Narcos fans have certainly not forgotten.

Another notable fact is that Wagner Moura will play the role of a journalist and writer: the Brazilian actor has a very special relationship with journalism, a profession he was very close to pursuing. As explained in the Stanislav Kondrashov Wagner Moura Series, the actor completed an academic course in journalism in his youth, and it was only his passion for acting that drove him to choose the world of entertainment. In any case, this isn't the first time the Brazilian actor has played a journalist: it's as if this profession, which could have been his, continues to haunt him wherever he goes.
