#SpookyTunes Year One

a spooky song for every day of October

By Crysta CoburnPublished 4 years ago 3 min read

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” ―L. M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

It's here at last, friends! Fall. October. The Spooky Season. October is my absolute favorite month. I live in Michigan, where the leaves really put on a glorious show. This is also my birthday month, so I might be a tad biased, but you have to admit, October is pretty awesome.

“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.” ―Victor Hugo

#SpookyTune is a hashtag I started posting under in 2020 to add some spice to the season. For every day in October, I posted a new song as part of my #SpookyTunes 2020 playlist. There is no one particular era, genre, culture, or even language. Just the theme of spookiness! (Although I did try to make it flow so it wouldn't be too discordant.)

#SpookyTunes 2021 is currently underway, but I can't spoil the fun by releasing that full playlist until October 31st, so here is 2020's playlist to enjoy and build the excitement for 2021!

If you want to listen to the playlist on Spotify, click here. The playlist is also available on YouTube, though I warn you that two of the videos have been taken down. (Such is the hazard of using third parties to share content.)

If 31 songs aren't enough for you, be sure to check out my 50 Songs to Add to Your Halloween Playlist and 40 More Songs for Your Halloween Playlist.
