My artist name Semaj Laurent & Im from Long Island NY.

What makes you different as a person and as an artist?

What makes me different is my DNA. There’s never been another Semaj before me. Im genuine and I stand on my own 10 toes. A man of my word and have no problem telling it like it is. Sometimes people dont know what to expect from me because just as outgoing as I am I can also be quiet and very observant around unfamiliar faces. But one thing I can say is Im always going to speak my mind and speak my opinion no matter how unpopular it is. I believe what makes me different is my sense of independence. I do just about everything my self. I cut the middle man out so when I need something done I do it myself contrary to a-lot of artist today are depending on others to get the job done. To me thats a waste of time. When you want something done you have to do it yourself.

What do you want to accomplish in life?

A million things! I want to become successful in my own terms. First things first I want to become a successful artist and put my music money to work. I want to invest my money and eventually own several businesses outside of music. Im interested in real estate and trucking companies. I always had a passion for passive income. I want my money to accumulate without me working. I want to wake up to direct deposits every morning from my businesses. I also want to try acting for a bit as well. I feel like that would be fun.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself working hard day in and day out to achieve the goals i have set for myself. 5 years can fly by so in order to fulfill my goals i have to continuously work hard and never let up. If I keep up the hard work i will see myself having hit singles and all over the top 10 billboard entries. I also see myself being a successful business man and looking to expand my horizon. Skys is never the limit.

What do you bring to the music world?

I feel like I bring a sense of uniqueness and fun to the world. I have my own sound and Im consistent. One of the very few artist that trusts his gut and goes with the flow. I have fun creating and you can hear it in my music because it sounds organic and it isnt forced. My job doesnt feel like a job and thats how i know Im going in the right direction.

What legacy do you want to leave behind?

The legacy I want to leave behind will be determined by my future self. I change as a person every few years so its hard to determine that as of right now. My answer could change next year. However, the ultimate end goal is to be successful and a positive influence to everyone around me. I want to inspire people to believe in themself and achieve they’re goals. Not sure what businesses i would like to invest into besides music but whatever it is I will go full force with it. So basically my legacy will be to inspire others to achieve they’re goals and to show the world that ANYthing is possible and all goals or dreams attained with discipline and hard work. The legacy I plan to leave behind is someone who inspired and motivated people to believe anything is possible. As long as you work hard and push yourself you will achieve your goals that you have set for yourself. Stay diligent!
