School of Rock's 'Fancy Pants' Spreads Holiday Cheer
Brian Falduto Presents a Jingle for the Singles

Brian Falduto, best known for his breakout role as "Fancy Pants" in the Jack Black cult classic School of Rock, is spreading cheer in the country-pop music scene once again with the release of his first original holiday song, "Christmas Solo". Offering a fresh and joyful perspective on spending the holidays alone, Falduto’s new tune is a celebration of self-love and solo time during a season often defined by togetherness.
Inspired by his own experiences, Falduto crafted "Christmas Solo" as a remedy for those who feel out of place during the holiday season. “I’ve spent many years single, and I’ve often felt out of place during the holidays,” Falduto explains. “The messaging around Christmas is so focused on being together with loved ones. But for many of us, especially those who are single by choice, it can feel isolating. I wanted to create a song that celebrates the beauty of being ‘self-partnered’ for the holidays and acknowledges that spending Christmas solo can be something joyful.”
"Christmas Solo" takes listeners on a journey of reframing solitude as a gift. Rather than focusing on the typical holiday themes of romantic love or longing, Falduto’s song highlights the joy and freedom of celebrating solo. “Why is there no holiday anthem for single people?” Falduto asks. “Valentine’s Day and weddings celebrate love and relationships, but singles deserve an anthem, too. I wanted to give singles a chance to embrace the holiday spirit without feeling like something’s missing.”
Produced by Brett Castro, "Christmas Solo" blends Falduto’s signature country-pop style with a festive, feel-good sound. The song’s lively production features a standout saxophone solo by Nate Hopkins and background vocals by Bronwyn Whittle and Kelsey Martin, delivering the kind of celebratory energy reminiscent of holiday hits by artists like Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson. Falduto describes the track as “catchy and fun,” adding, “I wanted it to have that shiny, holiday feel but without the undertone of sadness or bitterness. This is a song for celebrating your own company.”

For Falduto, the message of "Christmas Solo" goes beyond catchy melodies. He highlights the advantages of spending the holiday season solo, encouraging listeners to embrace a low-key Christmas. “You don’t have to dress up, make small talk, cook, or clean up after guests,” he laughs. “Spending Christmas solo gives you a rare chance to truly relax, decompress, and reflect on the season’s true meaning, away from all the holiday hustle and bustle.”
Falduto’s perspective is deeply rooted in his own journey, particularly as a queer individual who has navigated complex feelings of loneliness during the holidays. While he notes that he wasn’t always physically alone, he often felt emotionally isolated. “The holidays can be a complicated time for the queer community, especially when returning to environments that don’t feel fully supportive,” he shares. “Christmas Solo” is for everyone who feels out of place this time of year, whether you’re physically alone or just feeling like you don’t belong.”
Falduto’s transition from beloved child actor to celebrated singer-songwriter has been marked by authenticity and purpose. Since releasing his first country single, "Same Old Country Love Song," in 2023, which quickly became an LGBTQ+ anthem, he has continued to carve a path for himself in the music industry. Tracks like "Hottest Guy Here," "Big Boys Club," and his full-length album, Gay Country (Deluxe Edition), further solidified his place as a voice for inclusivity in the genre. Reflecting on his success, Falduto says, “The positive response to Same Old Country Love Song was extremely validating. It served as a testament to how many people have felt left out by country music and how much a song like this was clearly needed.”
With "Christmas Solo", Brian Falduto fills another important gap in music, this time for those who feel excluded by traditional holiday songs. “I love holiday music,” he says, “but so much of it focuses on romantic love or family togetherness. Christmas Solo fills a gap for people who don’t fit that mold, who might need a little reminder that it’s okay to celebrate the season alone.”
Falduto’s holiday wish for listeners is one of hope and joy. “There’s so much going on in the world right now. I hope this song brings a little bit of joy to people. Joy can be a powerful remedy and a form of resistance when things are tough. Let’s use it to lift each other up this season.”
