Rikki La Rouge Cover of Como La Flor and Baila Este Cumbia
Selena covers part 1
This is a rough demo I did of the Selena song Como La Flor. Even though it’s a rough demo, it did record really well. I recorded because she’s one of my favorite all-time singers. Also, when I was in high school, I sang in a talent show, and I decided to do my version of the Selena used to open the song by doing of the course first and then so I did a studio or makeshift studio in my case version of that song and it did come out really well, even though it was a rough demo that I did and it’s only rough because the what I recorded on was not equipped for that.
The sound in the background really is what makes it a rough demo and it’s not exactly a clear demo, but you can hear the demo that I did of the song and that’s about it for that.
Kumala Flor is off of Selena‘s 1992 album which means an English come into my world.
This is another rough demo idea of a Selena cover classic actually called Esta Cumbia, and like Como la Flor, which is a Cumbia by the name itself should tell you that it’s another Cumbia. This is this track came off a Ven Conmigo released in 1991. You can hear my vocals. You can hear the music but there’s that ongoing sound and I apologize for because when I it very bad recording equipment. I think I recorded on a stereo actually memory before I learned about putting Studio on your computer.
Keep in mind these are demos and you can hear that please understand that I do record on really good recording equipment. Also keep in mind that these recordings are from my earlier days of recording when I didn’t have recording software or anything of that nature.
I did try to somehow remove that intrusive purring sound that you hear on each track but I couldn’t. So later on I did another version of and us to recorded on studio programs for your computer. My I did go ahead and have a makeshift studio much of the songs that I did on my Studio programs where my makeshift later on they actually sounded really well too. I’ll do of the studio software that I recorded my best and finest work.
When I do covers, I actually do try to get the permission and I send the demos and what not said artist. I mean it’s only right to buy the rights when you record a song so therefore you’re doing it the legitimate way instead of because there’s been so many covers that have been done through the years that the original don’t get their credit look at what happened with them, vanilla ice, and wild cherry, who have that song play that funky music, white boy and vanilla ice had sampled that track without giving the bad that originally did that song it’s proper credit so that’s all I wanted to say about that.
I did try to fix the that purring sound I did but it is that’s why they call them rough demos when there’s something that you know is on it, but you can’t get out. I consider it vintage when it’s just a rough demo, but still just I consider demos to be outlines of what you were originally going for as an artist. Usually when I record the demos, they’re really they’re usually good enough to release, but it doesn’t always work but everything I was going for as far as the Selena songs were there so I consider them vintage from the earlier days of when I was recording.
