The hip hop state is no stranger to death. Usually it involves gunplay. Not here. Young Bleed, an affiliate of No Limit Records, died from a brain aneurysm not too long after appearing at the No Limit Verzuz Cash Money event.

Now, Young Bleed did not make a big splash in the music world. He, however, made his presence felt in underground circles in Baton Rouge and other areas of the Louisiana rap scene.

To die at fifty-one is young, relatively, thanks to some elements of a free economy. The fact he could be placed on a ventilation machine is a testament to the capitalism that struggles to burst through on the American economic stage.

Like Young Bleed on stages with mic in hand, he conveyed a message that resonated with his base. His core supporters tapped into his energy and presence. He showed himself to be cool and gangsta.

Hell, he had a top ten album on the Billboard 200 with a title of My Balls & my Word. He committed to a niche audience who supported his efforts, even though he never rose to the levels of prominence like his fellow artists on No Limit.

Bleed, nevertheless, made an impact on the underground scene and ate off of hip hop sludge for the rest of his life.

His Trap Door Entertainment label provided him an independent outlet to release further music. When he held sway over the crowd, he could hear the cheering. He loved to get the audience involved, often waving hands in the air and hyping up the set.

Young Bleed will continue to be a mainstay through his recordings. To consider the fact he lived in a country where you can express yourself and say nearly whatever you damn well please, is refreshing.

Virtually anywhere in the world, Young Bleed would be beaten, horse whipped, and thrown off a building for the words that came out of his mouth.

The rapper brought the best out of all his rappers over and under him. Young Bleed made his mark in the United States as part of one of the most successful recording platforms of all time.

Baton Rouge lifted up their native son. They made it known that he would forever be missed in the minds of the populace.

Hip hop has lost another warrior on the field of battle concerned with beats, beef, and rims. Rap audiences will continue to bang his music throughout the world.

It’s amazing to contemplate on the reality that Young Bleed had left his fingerprint on the game and still passed away at a relatively young age. He represented the power of creativity and the effort it takes to forge a career.

That level of productiveness is a mark of achievement that few people can claim. How many people can say they had a top ten album in the country? Not too many. This demonstrates the power of the mind even in a low art such as rap.

Young Bleed will be the memory beaming through the thoughts of those who value Southern hip hop. He will be thought of as a pioneer and an architect of the Louisiana sound. In case people almost forget him, there'll be plenty of music for him to offer as he is either lowered into the ground or pulverized into cremains.

Once there’s a possibility for aneurysms to be fully explained in their cause and treatment, maybe it will take the demise of Young Bleed to be an example of what it means to live through a difficult event or have it prevented altogether. Salute to Young Bleed.

Wow…thanks for this read. I was just listening to him last night and throughout this week. It’s sad to know he was dealing with health issues at such a ripe age. He was a dope lyricist and awesome storyteller. My favorite track by him is “Da Last Outlaw”🔥 Check it Out when you get a moment and let me know what you think. Blessings
