Reason First: HOT 97's "Ebro In The Morning" Is Officially Over
Ebro hinted that things weren't looking good for his morning show in September and blamed ownership for creating rifts between hosts.

Ding dong. The show known as Ebro in the Morning is no more. Hallelujah! The last show aired on Friday, December 12, 2025. Laura Stylez has yet to speak publicly on the demise of the show. Rosenberg took to X to voice his concerns citing that “change was afoot” and that it can be "beautiful."
Ebro had already given a clarion call on new staff and no new studios among the reasons why the show imploded.
This is a shift in hip hop shows in the morning. For all the recurrents, tickets to concerts, and guests, the show struggled to gain listenership.
In the trades, the show could barely take a top position among other New York stations. Steve Harvey continues to stomp all over the competition.
With the spark when they started, that drove them thirteen years at the helm of Drop 97, the trio couldn’t make the magic work. It felt stodgy and unable to generate excitement on a plane that begs for bells and whistles but also contemplative moments as well.
Ebro might go the online broadcast route, or they all might take their talents to YouTube. In the interim, they will have enough time to flow through the digital airwaves.

Each of them possess a modicum of gifts on the microphone and will most likely land on their feet. The way they should be able to get to know what it’s like to be players on the stage of controlling the Web.
What they might choose to do is go out on tour and put boots to the ground. The show didn’t just reach New York metropolitan listeners but anyone around the world with an iHeartMedia app.
All three of them together didn’t gel as well but they tried. Sometimes you just have to do it. Flop 97 has been in the ratings toilet in the morning and Funk Masterflex has been holding down the evening spot with as much power as he can muster.
The pop stations possess a strong foothold on the morning shows and made it tougher for the three of them to recover from the blows to the face.
It seems as if Rosenberg will go onto his own show. He seemed like he always wanted to have the top billing with his name in lights.
Laura Stylez may start a reality show and shop it to various channels.
Ebro might continue his show and find new talent who will serve him. The amount of attention that he has generated through all of this could launch him forward.
It doesn’t seem likely, however. The amount of pop stations like Z100 with Elvis Duran dominate the hip hop stations in the city. The spirit of radio gives way to the might of all the broadcasters who have crushed Ebro, Laura, and Rosenberg.

If they are to be able to salvage their roles as radio show hosts, online outlets could present problems, though. Their pay cut may be a shock even if they earn close to what they once made on terrestrial radio.
Satellite services might come calling them, nonetheless. By the time they consider the options, they might already have options on the table. The structure of deals might already be in effect. Despite the flooded market of voices on multiple platforms, it may be a definite for the Internet to be their shelter.
As Ebro marches forward with his own name attached to his show, Laura Stylez might start a vanity driven show about gossip and hip hop all wrapped into a neat little show.
Rosenberg might think about incorporating Jewish ideals into the hip hop landscape.
Whatever the case…will The Breakfast Club be the next on the chopping block?
