Punk culture LIVES.

If you're a punk struggling to find your place in the world, just know that even if the punks are not around you, we're all united.

We live in completely different times then those that punk dominated in the 80's and 00's. Punk culture has decreased in size for sure. This page isn't some bullshit that's going to make you think punks are dominating the world, but it's something that'll hopefully open your eyes.

Hardcore, post-punk, emo punk... We are all once. No matter how much we differ with our styles, in my eyes and the real punks' eyes we all stand united, without even knowing each other. The bands that created different scenes, like The Clash, 'Pistols, blink-182, Warzone were all together. Punks back then were definitely into different sounds, but when you go out in the streets and see a guy wearing chains and relaxed fit levi's - you make eye contact across the street and you dudes, ladies or whoever else just know that you and that other person are one love. Bald heads, mohawks, long hair. I'm not saying that all these styles actually were united back in the glory days, but we knew we have to stand for each other.

And now we practice unity as much as we can. The hip-hop, techno, pop, trap and other scenes maybe took over the dominance from us. Maybe there isn't as much real punks as there were. But deep down, you have to believe in yourself, in us that we live. Punk isn't just people, it's in your heart. And head. It's definitely harder to see us in the streets, most likely on your daily basis you just see a dude wearing yeezy's with stylish ripped jeans, or a girl with some "aesthetic" as she might call it, outfit. People definitely stole from us. They stole the style, personalities. Which know in fact only made us stronger.

Living in smaller places definitely might make it harder for you. People in 2020 might actually call you a weirdo, faggot, slut. To me, I've honestly developed a state of mind that makes me feel more valued when I get talked about or called names. People that are being homophobic or racist in 21st century are definitely fucking dead to me. We shouldn't care how well positioned that fuckhead is, either some weird big fashion shit, political or even Hollywood stuff. Even those people who should have a fake personality that the public will love, in reality might hold different, non-tolerant views. Don't be afraid to stand up against them. Whoever it is. If you're a punk kid bullied at school, fight them. If it's a bigger group, just don't go 1 vs. 5. Make a smarter move, invite someone for a talk and break a nose. Punks will come to you. Some don't show their punk side a lot, but they will definitely come around one day.

I realize I haven't really given good examples. Well, it's my first story and I'm not really good at writing readings. Give me examples, contact me I will help you emotionally.

The main idea of this 'story' is: punks are everywhere. Whether it's a big New York, smaller part of California or a different country, we see and feel and support each other. Express yourself. Help others make changes. New York has definitely changed. There is a whole lot more posers who pretend to be a tougher punk, but never even touched anyone with a fist. There is a whole lot of 'punks' who like to dress like that because it's trendy now to look like the old days, but at home they listen to trap music and only know bands that have over 10 million views on YouTube. But we live. We wear band shirts. If we can't afford them, we make them. We make our shows. Support the smaller bands. We live in different times, and not supporting different punk scenes is I'm not sorry to say that, but you're just a dickhead.

We love you.
