I believe that for the most of us music is an essential part of our lives. Creating a playlist is always a serious business, when it comes to perfect summer music, there is no time to kid around.
Or is there? Anyways, I would like to share mine with you and hope you will enjoy it :)
1. Heart of Glass - Blondie
‘Once I had a love
And it was divine
Soon found out
I was losing my mind’
How precise, huh? Can we relate? Oh, yes.
Perfect opening for any summer playlist in my opinion. Get in the mood. Relax. Find your moves. The day is promising to be not as bad as it was yesterday. This 70s masterpiece should be an ultimate lift-my-mood anthem.
2. I Don’t Know - Beastie Boys
‘Mellow’ doesn’t necessarily have to be sad. Sometimes it could be bittersweet with strong notes of hope and smile. More sweet than bitter overall.
3. Dance With the Night - John Moods
And here we are dancing into the night with John Moods. For me, this song recalls walks under the moonlight, warm light of orange lampshades in the windows, and the particularly sweet memories of the past, though I miss them, they will never go anywhere and will always serve as a source of comfort.
4. Our Lips are Sealed - The Go- Go’s
While you are applying your lipstick to rock the night out with your girlfriends, this song will make you practically invincible to any worries you might possibly hit this evening. Or the next day. Just put the song back on.
5. Wonderwall - Oasis
Summer road trips are always something special, everyone knows that. Whether you are driving into the sunset at the end of the day, or passing the meadow in the afternoon , this song will be a perfect companion to any landscape, even if you hear it for a fifth time today.
6. Champagne Supernova - Oasis
When you are not quite ready to get out of Wonderwall, but you have heard Wonderwall for five times already. Also try this song while you are driving through rain and thunderstorms.
7. Pictures of You - The Cure
Well, this is all time long, ultimately always a perfect love song. You don’t even have to be in love with anyone, while listening to this song you will fall in love with the moment. It’s melted caramel slowly going down your throat. Happiness in a jar.
8. Dreams - The Cranberries
I don’t think there is much needed to be said about Cranberries. Always great, always appropriate, always happy to hear it. Emotions, emotions, and more emotions exploding in Dolores O’Riordan's performance are and will always be liberating.
9. Is There a Ghost - Band of Horses
When you drive through the forest in the early morning sunshine, or pass something epic like the Grand Canyon in ‘Due Date’, this song will add some force to your trip like wind for sailing.
10. Explorers - The Midnight
When you feel a little extra nostalgic about your 80s childhood and can’t find your cereal this song will come to help. Also it will make your dog extra happy while it’s sticking their head out of the car window.
11. Radio Ga Ga - Queen
Nothing will ever sound similar to Queen. Their unique sound will last generations and pass through hundreds of years. Freddie Mercury’s voice is charged with inspiration and power that will never die.
12. Baba O’Riley - The Who
Well, to the infinity and beyond! I only wish I had a chance to hear this during the life performance. Baba O’Riley once again is an eternal masterpiece.
13. Kids- MGMT
No introduction needed. A summer party must have.
14. This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) - Talking Heads
This song is an essential in any Summer playlist as well. Either you are having a great day on the beach or gather with your friends by the bonfire, don’t forget to turn this song on.
15. I Believe (When I Fall in Love) - Stevie Wonder
‘I believe when I fall in love with you
It will be forever’
Everything is said in those lyrics. This is one of my most favorite songs of all time that I carry around in my heart. Perfect closing song for the playlist. :)
P.S. if this is not inspirational enough, try ‘Defying Gravity’.
