Panning in Lo-Fi Music
Please don't pan your subs [stop this now]

Sunday April 5th 2020 10:34pm Hawaii.
Right now I'm currently streaming on twitch and listening to lofi music with my fellow viewers. Many songs pasted by but there was this one song that stuck out so much that I needed or at least had to make this statement.
Don't pan your subs!
Now if you're a producer like me, you would know that the sub are kinda the overall guide within songs. They direct the music in many ways and for one, I'm a "sub" fan. I like my subs and but if anything happens to it, it'd be the first thing I'll ever correct in my music. Now back to what I was saying, this song popped up on the ChilledCow live stream on youtube the "beats to sleep/chill to" and with complete honesty, answer this for me right now.
Could you go to sleep with a song that is 90% directed and panned to the right?
If you say no, then don't read any further because my opinions will only offend you. If you say yes, I encourage you to resume reading this story and read what I have to say.
Now I'm a massive fan with subs, I truly wouldn't want to ever pan them because like I said above, they direct the how's and where's the music is coming from. It's the "wholesome" of the entire song and if you choose to pan it, there are either consequences towards it or maybe worst.
The song that I listened to hard panned their subs all the way to the right and whenever the LFO comes around, the subs just starts irritating the heck out of me. I couldn't even hear what was happening on the left side of my own studio monitor headphones! For this kind of song being on a lofi - beats to study to, I think it would've made more sense. However, it was on the beats to sleep to channel, and this brings us back to the initial question.
I CAN'T SLEEP TO THIS!
My point to all this is, that exact song with a panned sub on the ChilledCow Youtube Live Stream "Beats to sleep to", take it off! I can't completely confirm this but in my position, if I was sleeping, there's no doubt that I would wake up to that song because it's not stereo, almost full on monotone to the right, and I chose to sleep to a "Beats to sleep to" stream, not a "Beats to sleep to then one song with a hard panned sub to the right will wake you up" stream.
NOTE: Everything I said is an opinion. Please don't take it literal because panning it a very cool effect and for that song to pan the subs HARD to the right, I think it was very interesting and neat. All I'm saying is I think it doesn't fit well for a "beats to sleep to" stream. Thank you.
