P!nk and Garbage put stupid girls in their places

a review

Musical artists P!nk and Garbage have combated all of the stupid girls of the world, and rightfully so. Both acts have two separate songs on the same subject and name but the two songs let all the stupid girls have it coming from both artist directions as well as perspectives. Beginning with P!nk's song, since she is a Pop music artist and has always been tongue in cheek but she keeps it to the point and pulls no punches and lets them all have and leaving morals also to be learned too. The video is great too, and at the time that i was made P!nk takes aim at girls who get implants, puke in the sink to be skinny, and it is a great video. All of the lyrics are full of advice and warnings she encourages girls that they can achieve anything they want they just have to do in instead of letting society brainwash them down the wrong road into stupidity and mediocrity as well. At the end of the video P!nk saves the day of a little girl who was almost brainwashed by television and picks up her football and runs outside in the sunshine to play and shape her own destiny.

I admire that P!nk gives advice and warnings throughout her song, for instance she says to little girls if you want to be president you can, and encourages positive body image and combats body shaming. The video imagery in the video is also literal and self explanatory as well. For instance , another scene Pink is trying to get the guy so she pulls the string and her boobs get bigger and she signals to the guy and its a funny image but the point is made. Both the song and video are positives that save girls from becoming stupid and stereo typical females who can not think for themselves. P!nk was making well deserved fun of dim acts like jessica simpsons like in that video where she is washing a car for no reason at all. I am glad that P!nk chose to do this song because if it saved one little girl then it was successful.

Garbage The Band has a song of the same and subject matter but because they grunge the band comes at the subject matter with a much darker and needed point of view. The video itself to begin with is a grimy in the way that it was filmed and the video came out long before the P!nk video in the mid 90's. Shirley Manson, the bands lead singer really tackles the song wonderfully. When I first saw the video I liked it. Not alot is happening in the video that is a testament to the idea that simplicity works, it has her in a dress and singing over laid by grimy overlay of red and orange. The director of the video is a genius. Now I am going to talk about The subject matter of the Garbage song "Stupid Girl", I liked it because i liked that the song was not afraid to combat the subject but from a different direction. I thank God every day that my two cousins have heads on their shoulders and that they had never fell into the trap of becoming stupid girls. The Garbage song "Stupid Girl" goes in deeper and calls out those girls that are posers and don't know who they are at all but are willing to once again let society dictate their inner workings of their own minds. Both of the songs need to exist.
