Linkin Park after 20 years.
So much the band went through to be where they are now!

Twenty years ago, on October 24, the band called Linkin Park released their debut album called Hybrid Theory that launched their career. It's hard to imagine how Linkin Park started from two high school friends to one of the top 20 in the best metal band. But Linkin Park isn't just metal; they are many styles; From headbanging metal to fast rapping hip hop, electronic, rock, which is why they are happy to be under the genre Nu-metal. Even their lyrics are fascinating because they don't talk about punching someone in the gut or putting certain parts of their body in other places. Front lead singer and producer Mike Shinoda stated in an interview, "We sing about anxiety, relationship issues, and wanting to fit in. "
Each song was produced ‘at the time’ with digital technology. Most of their songs were samples from tapes from the 90s, songs from other bands that were not released. This was confirmed by Joe Hahn, who is the DJ of the band. When asked to talk about the song 'With You," Joe explains that it was partially created with re-mix samples from The Dust Brothers, one of the first collaborators the band worked with. Another was Joe Hahn's favorite rapper by the name of AC Alone, who was part of Freestyle's fellowship. Joe wanted to explain that during the late 90s, there was a lack of commercial advertising on single demos, which is why there is little to no knowledge of AC Alone and the fellowship called Freestyle.
'One Step Closer' was their first song to be played on KROQ, and after that, Linkin Park was requested frequently by callers, the same when for the two other songs' Paper cut' and 'In the End.' In a via webcam interview called 'LINKIN PARK: Hybrid Theory - The Inside Story as told by the band, ' on a YouTube channel called Kerrang, Mike Shinoda wanted to point out why the song called Papercut is the first song on the album, "I felt like the song Papercut was the DNA of our music." As for the song "In The End," it has been the most played song on YouTube to this day.
It's hard to believe a band that Linkin Park had gone through so much to be where they are now, just like a phoenix they raise from the fire. It all started from looking for a label company; they would perform in front of forty-five different labels. Former frontman Chester Bennington stated, "When we were rejected, I would just say these guys are f*cken stupid, they don't know talent when it is in front of them." Unlike most band when performing in front of label companies after declining three to four times the band quits and goes their separated way. Linkin park did the opposite.
Originally Linkin park was called Xero (pronounced Zero but with an X) So, the band changed it to Hybrid Theory but was criticized for sounding ridiculous. So, they had to change it, and the name Linkin Park was chosen because Mike Shinoda said he would drive up and pass Lincoln Park when coming to record. But they had to change the spelling due to legal reasons. And it was also because it was when Chester Bennington joined the band. Chester Bennington's voice was unique because it would sound like he had three voice, from normal singing, then more mellow aggressive, to hard-core screaming.
The band is thankful to the fans for their loyalty, but one thing the band does wish is that Chester Bennington was alive to see the anniversary of the release of Hybrid Theory. On the morning of July 20, 2017, Chester was found dead from suicide due to depression. At the beginning of the year 2018, on January 25, Mike Shinoda released an album called the Post Traumatic EP., which contained three songs about his feelings at the aftermath of Chester Bennington's death. In March 2018, Shinoda announced through social media that he was working on a new solo album under the same name; with other artist collaboration with the record and was released on June 15, 2018.
