Kissie Lee, the multi-talented singer and songwriter from Atlanta is making her mark in 2020. Originating from Denver, Colorado. Kissie Lee had dreams of attending a HBCU so her mother submitted her application along with her music to Clark Atlanta University. They were so impressed they offered her an acceptance and a chance to get her music on the radio.

She moved to Atlanta where she used Soul and R&B to create a sound that would set herself apart from other up and coming artists. The move to Atlanta would also introduce her to Ian Burke while she was auditioning for a girl group that Platinum Recording Artists Jagged Edge were putting together. Ian saw her spark and introduced her to other writers and producers creating her core team. This kinship made Kissie choose to abandon school and go forward with her career. The decision would lead to a session with Songstress KeKe Wyatt and then the opportunity to perform on tour with KeKe. Since then, Kissie Lee has written songs for Sammie, Tiny Harris, The OMG Girlz, Jacob Latimore, and R&B sensation Jacques.

Finally gaining the confidence, Kisse Lee decided to focus more on herself. With over 900k+ Streams and 1 million views on her new hit single "My Love”, the choice proved to be the right one. Besides being a musician, Kissie Lee is all about female empowerment and safety! Utilizing her platform, Kissie has been working to combat sex-trafficking, by spreading awareness via her zoom classes. Kissie Lee not only wants to leave her imprint on the music industry but her community. She’s appeared on Fox 5 Atlanta and Fox Soul sharing her thoughts with millions on the importance of protecting our women. Hoping to revitalize the Christmas spirit, Kissie Lee released "Someday at Christmas”. The visual and single are available on all digital streaming platforms. Kissie Lee has been featured on BET, Rolling Out, Billboard and more!

Tammy Reese:

What inspired you to get into the music industry?

Kissie Lee:

Going to a birthday party at 6 years old and it was at a place called KidSkits. I just fell in love with the entertainment period from then.

Tammy Reese:

What was your experience like performing on tour with KeKe Wyatt?

Kissie Lee:

Amazing! I actually started as her background singer! Then once she saw me putting out music and being consistent she brought me on to open for her! Just watching how she moves the audience with her voice and her personality was a huge learning lesson.

Tammy Reese:

What messages do you convey through your music?

Kissie Lee:

My mom always says this to me lol and it sticks with me, “You’ve got 24 hours to whine and then you drink wine”. So basically when I go through things and write about them I always end in a space where basically life is not over because there is always something else to do.

Tammy Reese:

What are some of the most memorable moments in your career so far?

Kissie Lee:

My first number one on Billboard! Working with the rapper Fabolous, he was just so cool and such a legend. Also seeing Timbaland in a studio that I was in is a memorable moment as well.

Tammy Reese:

What have been some challenges?

Kissie Lee:

Doing 3 to 4 sessions a day with only $20 in my pocket and barely any gas but still having to write super happy songs then going home to sleep on my couch that Keke Wyatt bought for me because I didn’t have a bed.

Tammy Reese:

How did your advocacy to spread awareness about sex trafficking come about?

Kissie Lee:

Watching my one year old daughter and thinking to myself that I’m going to have to teach her about life and the simple fact of being out as a female and constantly being seen as vulnerable and a target. Also, wanting to help us all stay aware together.

Tammy Reese:

What are you currently working on?

Kissie Lee:

Currently I'm working on the video for my second single and finalizing my EP that I’m dropping in February!

Tammy Reese:

What are you looking forward to in the coming year?

Kissie Lee:

Performing at the Soul Train Awards, BET Awards and performing on bigger platforms!

Tammy Reese:

What else can we be on the lookout for from you?

Kissie Lee:

I will definitely have way more visuals and besides the EP in February I will be following up with another EP! Tours, more features, and collabs.

Tammy Reese:

What would you like to say to your fans?

Kissie Lee:

I love you guys. My #KissieGang has just held me down since day 1 and even all my new listeners are just so sweet we are like one big family! Thank you guys for listening and spreading the word about me!

Tammy Reese:

What advice would you have for anyone who wants to enter the music industry?

Kissie Lee:

Consistency, Balance, Discernment.
