Singing J Hope?

Just when I think i have figured this man out, he laughs in my face. Like Damn Hobi I thought i was familiar with your game but i guess was wrong.

I wonder

THIS SONG WAS TOO SHORT! Seriously though, why is a song with TWO artists 2:30?

Anyway, I listened to this album while i was cleaning and girlll! it gave off this perfect energy boost—like a lowkey shot of adrenaline. The beat just makes you want to move, Jungkook’s vocals though? So dreamy. His voice flows so smoothly, it's like being wrapped in a soft blanket of sound that makes everything feel lighter. But not gonna lie, I didn’t like the autotune they put on J-Hope. I love his raw energy, so hearing his voice with that filter felt a little off. Wish they had let him go more natural because he really shines without all the effects. But regardless, this was still a good song.

Lock/unlock

Another super groovy song. The guitar riff is such an amazing addition. It’s so fun and nostalgia for me even though I was not born in the 80s lol. It reminds me of "Standing Next You" by Jung Kook. They both sound like they were inspired by a different era of music.

They give me 70s and '80s disco and funk era. The groovy basslines, upbeat rhythms, and lush production give off those retro vibes reminiscent of icons like Michael Jackson but with a modern twist that makes it feel current. It’s like a blend of old-school soul and contemporary pop, bringing the charm of that era into today’s sound. I also got chills when that solo guitar came in.

I don’t know

Yunjin was probably the second strongest collaborator on this EP, she really completed this track,

Their voices just blend so well together the vibe is just amazing. Them harmonizing together sound so beautiful, Probably my favorite moment on the whole album.it’s definitely going on my summer playlist in a few months.

What if

So I’m kind of mad at this song because the original version from JITB was on my top 5.

I think it fits better on JITB, which is way different album than this EP, but I didn’t hate this remix though, I just love the original more.

Jinbo's part was more in line with this chill and fun vibe of the EP.

NEURON

Wait, I thought we are in a Hobi Pop era?

A song that is over 3 MINUTE Long!?!?!?!? I have to stan!!!! This is what happens when an artist is not chasing streams or viral TikTok sounds. Everything about it is just right—the melodic intro, the verses, the features, and that chorus. And then adding a female singer in the final chorus? Her voice blends perfectly with J-Hope’s, adding an extra layer of richness that leaves a lasting impression. It’s one of those songs that feels like a breath of fresh air, standing apart from typical trends while staying undeniably cool.

Pure genius. It's just perfection from start to finish! I think I’m addicted to this song.

Favorite line

"Such a deep-rooted tree, like deep-spring water

Cause these neurons are the cells that awakened me"

Such a deep-rooted tree, like deep-spring water" I think here he uses imagery of nature to symbolize strength and wisdom. The "deep-rooted tree" representing stability, grounding, and growth, while "deep-spring water" conveys purity and a continuous source of life.To me this lines highlight the idea that J-Hope’s journey is built on strong foundations, and his creative and personal growth comes from a deep, authentic place.

"Cause these neurons are the cells that awakened me"

Now why is this man always taking me to school on every album?

Apparently Neurons, is a cells responsible for transmitting information in the brain, symbolize enlightenment or awakening. J-Hope is essentially saying that his neurons—the core of his being—have sparked a new awareness or understanding. Using it as a metaphor for his personal evolution, where he’s awakened to a new level of consciousness and creativity.

Conclusion

Honestly a great EP,I LOVE how much J-Hope likes to try his hand in different genres, creating distinct albums and He doesn’t attempt to replicate what he has already done. This man is a student to music and you can feel it through his work. He is in tune with music that moves people.

I’m so used to his hip-hop delivery, this singing moment on this EP was surprising but also refreshing—it adds layers to his persona as an artist, showing he’s not confined to one genre. His voice has a unique texture that still fits with the overall energy of his music, even in a different format. The songs feel new but J-Hope at the same time.

I’m sure even Hobi needs his coffee to fuel that incredible artistic genius of his so if you loved my review, consider leaving a me tip.
