It's not supposed to make sense
Random Playlist #1

Antecedents:
I figured it must be my turn to throw a playlist into the Vocal mix. This list will not include any version of American Pie (another tale possibly for another time) and Pete Buck will not play mandolin (I'm not even sure if REM will make it onto this list but if they do it will be Radio Free Europe).
As a youngster living in Tasmania we had three types of music in our house; Dad's Beatles tapes (reel to reel) and records, Mums ABBA, Neil Diamond and Demis Roussos Records (almost forgot but I didn't and cringed still after all this time - Nana Mouskouri), and the ever present K-Tel presents compilations Mum purchased for us on her trips back from Melbourne (I sat next to Roy Orbison on one of these flights and Mum got his autograph when we landed because Roy reckoned I was very well behaved for a 3 year old) or so the story goes. That, and Countdown on the tele. But Molly Meldrum only showed us the tip, the pop shaped my budding tastes for rock and roll.
First record I ever bought with my own money: Kiss - Dressed To Kill. The local radio never played it enough. From then on my goal in life was to get every KISS record, every T shirt, badge, sticker and other assorted paraphernalia. I was hooked, hooked to the point my born again relos had an intervention which resulted in all my vinyl (all of it because the other records might have demons as well!) being confiscated as they brought into the Knights In Satanic Service myth. Fuckin idiots!
Kiss - Rock and Roll All Night
This was anthem and to some part still is - it's a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll - this puts me crosslegged and hunched on the floor in front of the tele in my loungeroom in Tassie, nineteen seventy five, Mum screaming turn it down! Time Machine!
AC/DC - It's A Long Way To The Top
The Slaters - Sydney pub band I heard on one of the lesser known FM stations in the late 80's. This song puts me in a real late eighties vibe makes me zoom around like a budgie on biker speed! I had it on a cassette which has long been lost and about five or six years ago it popped up on Youtube and I've been flogging it like a loony.
The Salter - No Ones Home
Continuing my local indie fixation, I had this on a 12"33, dunno why I just like the song. I had a milkcrate full of eps 12"and other what not. This was one of the favourites.
The Plunderers - Sarah's Not Falling In Love
Nobody did satire like Frank and this in my opinion is one his finest, fuckin love this song AND it's the first FZ song I ever heard on the radio - admittedly it was Newcastle University radio but hey its was Zappa man!
Frank Zappa - Tinsel Town Rebellion
Brisbane has had a few really good bands but these guys - nothing came close the Saints, Chris Bailey and Ed Keupper - what a team. I don't think there isn't a single Brisband since that hasn't wished they could channel the magic The Saints had.
The Saints - Stranded
My favourite Ramones song ever (The album has Warthog and Endless Vacation on it). My mate I used to live with years ago reminded me a while back that he played it that much I threatened to piff it off our porch - subliminal shit huh!
Daytime Dilemma - Ramones
Michael Franti rules! I heard this on 2JJJ and purchased the CD single because the album wasn't out, then I got the album and wasn't disappointed especially with last track being a Dead Kennedys cover - California Uber Alles.
Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy - Television
I have been a Mike Patton fan since year dot, I thought Faith No More were amazing and I got put onto Mr Bungle, to me this was the audio version of edgy avant garde surrealism and I was hooked
Mr Bungle - My Ass Is On Fire
Got a soft spot for these guys, they were locals at one my old stomping grounds. Brilliant pub band that gave a magicly loud live show and a half. Saw them in Brisbane years ago with a different vocalist cause Mike Dalton took a job with MTV, damn pity but a blokes gotta eat. Gary Slater (Voodoo Lust) took up the role but it wasn't the same.
The Trilobites - Fuck = Love
Sexy Tex, what can I say - Tex Perkins - you would! I have seen this band so many times it should be a crime - them and the Beasts of Bourbon - (yep more Tex). The Cruel Sea were rocking on a whole different level and you would have thought it would be more accessible but that wasn't to be the case until The Honeymoon is Over and Better Get a Lawyer
The Cruel Sea - Down Below
And finally where would we be without a little GG? The wild man of rock himself. You might want to start of with something from Banned In Boston with the Jabbers but this video is totally the worst. His mission was to destroy rock and roll but he became collateral damage. Releasing over thirty self funded albums as well touring all over the US playing piss ant bars and music venues but never the same place twice. The best one word to describe GG, unorthodox! Rest In Piss GG! I don't usually do warnings but in this instance it would be rude of me not to. GG was pretty fucked really but who can fault him or tell him he was wrong, he was just doing his life , his way!
*** DON'T CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WATCH YUKY THINGS!***
GG Allin - Bite It You Scum
I don't know how many songs I have here now (I'm not counting them either cause all I can see while typing is the image of GG's naked arse just up there) but I did promise you random. I love rock and roll, it keeps me young at heart. It's like a time machine, I can go anywhere or anytime I want with the right song playing. I like it loud, I like it soft. I like to keep it mixed up unless it is one of a few records where the tracks have to be played sequentially (Pink Floyd - The Wall). I like it from headphones or great big huge fuck off speakers. I'll let Joan Jett close for me...
Joan Jett and The Blackhearts - I Love Rock and Roll
This was fun!

Nice list bloke! Guessing you’ll be looking back in five years and citing The Chats - AC/DC CD. Mostly Aussie punk rock I see, not so keen on the British stuff, Sex Pistols, etc? (Except Pink Floyd of course, but The Wall is almost a given, right.)
