LEXU-FI is a composer and producer known for crafting cinematic soundscapes that elevate film, TV, games, and even dance music. With a passion for blending orchestral arrangements with modern textures, LEXU-FI's music resonates emotionally and enhances storytelling. From atmospheric soundtracks to epic scores, they specialize in creating bespoke compositions that are perfectly tailored to bring your vision to life.

In this Q&A interview, LEXU-FI shares insights into their creative process and the inspiration behind their unique sound.

What first sparked your passion for music?

Music has always been an integral part of my life. As a child, I was fascinated by the endless possibilities that different instruments and electronic sounds offered. This early fascination evolved into a deep passion that continues to drive me today.

Could you share a bit about your background and journey in music?

My musical journey began with classical piano lessons, but I quickly gravitated towards electronic music. The ability to create and manipulate different soundscapes particularly appealed to me. Initially, I focused on producing instrumental tracks as that's where I felt most comfortable and confident in my expression.

How did you choose your artist name, LEXU-FI?

The name LEXU-FI is a combination of “Alexander’s” codename in Switzerland and my love for electronic music. The "FI" stands for "Fidelity" - it represents my vision of combining traditional musical elements with modern production techniques.

Congrats on the release of EARGASM! What was the inspiration behind this track?

EARGASM emerged from my desire to create a multi-sensory listening experience. I wanted to craft something that wouldn't just be heard but felt deeply. The inspiration came from the idea of merging different sonic worlds into an intense, emotional journey.

What's your process for merging diverse genres into one cohesive sound?

The key lies in balance. I usually start with a beat foundation and build electronic elements on top of that. I pay special attention to ensuring each element has its space and contributes to the overall picture without overpowering the others.

Do you have any exciting plans or additional projects related to EARGASM?

Absolutely! I'm currently working on an extended version of the track that will incorporate vocal elements. This is an important step in my artistic evolution. I'm also developing a visual concept that will tell the story behind the track more intensively.

How does your background in film and game composition shape your approach?

This experience has taught me the importance of storytelling in music. Even in electronic music, I always try to tell a story - whether through building tension, emotional climaxes, or unexpected turns.

Can you walk us through your creative process with orchestral and electronic elements?

The process typically begins with a clear vision of the emotional impact I want to achieve. Then I experiment with various orchestral or synth arrangements and electronic textures until I find the perfect balance. It's crucial that both elements complement and enhance each other.

How do you ensure your tracks elevate the narrative and emotional experience?

Each track is based on an emotional concept. With EARGASM, for example, the goal was to create a journey from tension through euphoria to relaxation. The musical elements are carefully selected to support this emotional journey.

How does your creative process differ between singles and larger projects?

With singles like EARGASM, I have more creative freedom and can be more experimental. With film scores or game soundtracks, I need to adhere to specific guidelines, and the music must serve the visual narrative.

What was the production journey like for EARGASM?

The production was a simple process of experimentation. A particular challenge was finding the right balance between the various elements while maintaining the emotional arc throughout the track.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

My influences range from classical composers like “RATATAT” to electronic artists like “BICEP” and “Kygo”. Their ability to create complex emotional landscapes deeply inspires me.

What's your ideal working dynamic when collaborating?

The best collaboration is based on open dialogue, understanding and interacting. It's important that both parties can clearly communicate their vision and are willing to work together towards the best possible solution.

Looking ahead, what's next for you?

I'm planning to significantly expand my musical spectrum. This includes integrating vocals and additional instruments into my productions. I'm also working on several exciting collaborations that will bridge different genres.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I want to thank my fans and collaboration partners who have accompanied me on my instrumental journey so far, and invite them to take the next step with me. Expanding my musical expression doesn't mean forgetting my roots - it's rather a natural evolution of my artistic vision.
