Ebbs & Flows With Zoe Frenchman

I decided to start a podcast called Ebbs & Flows With Zoe Frenchman! It’s about—you guessed it—the ebbs and flows of life, within various topics such as lifestyle, mental health, fashion, beauty, pop culture, and self-help, with an overall narrative format. I've even used some of the articles that I've published here on Vocal as a basis for my episode concepts.

Here's the episode of me reciting some of my poetry:

Here's an episode including a list of 20 of the saddest girl songs that I could come up with:

I’ve been interested in starting a podcast for a while now, having had plenty of experience maintaining a YouTube channel. I plan on continuing to make YouTube videos because I love filming and editing videos, but I’ve found that planning and recording podcast episodes create a sense of even more authenticity.

Podcasts are a great outlet for the expression of innermost thoughts and ideas pertaining to particular niches. I gravitate more toward lifestyle, pop culture, beauty, and self-help kind of content, and that's the kind of content that I make myself. As both a podcast listener and creator, I try to put myself in the shoes of the audience and consider what I would like to listen to in a podcast.

Some podcasts that I personally listen to are Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain, Pretty Basic with Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz, and sometimes, Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper.

Here's my episode on setting achievable goals:

Here's the episode focused on self-harm:

My dad has a background in radio broadcasting and I feel like I’ve inherited a little bit of that skill set from him. He has a great speaking/narration voice and he’s a writer himself, and my ability to extemporaneously speak about whatever I know about, or whatever I’m passionate about, probably comes from him.

I don't expect this podcast to take off immediately. I don't expect hundreds of listeners immediately. But I expect to work hard, stay motivated, and crank out quality content. I'm truly determined to grow this podcast into a big project, and I want to reach as people as I can. I truly believe that I can make something special out of it if I keep working at it. And I believe that I have the utmost potential to achieve this goal.

There are a lot of changes happening in my life right now, as a 20-year-old woman, about to move across the country for college, and really moving into adulthood. And my ultimate goal in this podcast is to document this journey with the utmost authenticity. I plan to discuss various mental health topics, lifestyle topics, fashion and beauty topics, relationship maintenance, pop culture, music, movies/television, reciting my poetry and writing, and more.

Here's my recent episode based on the article I wrote about anorexia from my perspective, as an anorexic (published here on Vocal):

Here's my episode in regard to getting your shit together (GYST):

So far, I've released 12 episodes and a trailer! The topics range from mental health topics, to pop culture topics, to lifestyle topics, to recommendations on different categories.

I'm essentially writing this article as a means to grow my podcast further. I'm hoping to expand my audience to all types of people, but my core demographic is probably young women, like myself. If you listen to it and enjoy the content, please consider sharing it to spread it even further! I appreciate all of the ongoing support from all of you.

I plan on covering a broad variety of topics, but I don’t want to give too much away here! I plan to make both short and long-form content, individually and with guests. Make sure you check it out and comment with suggestions for episode topics!
