I rewatched "Eternal Summer" after 15 years and felt a little disappointed
Gay feelings are the same as heterosexual feelings, so they don’t need to be listed specifically to recognize their speciality.

Recently released the 15th anniversary 4k digitally restored film "Eternal Summer" (2006), adapted from the writer Xu Zhengping's short story "Light Years", the story is described in the background of a middle school in Hualien, Taiwan, and the hero Kang Zhengxing with good character and learning (Zhang Rui’s home decoration). Since childhood, his teacher arranged to be friends with Yu Shouheng (Zhang Xiaoquan), who has a rebellious character. Since then, the two have become inseparable friends until one day, the girl Du Huijia (played by Yang Qi) who returned from Hong Kong appeared , The simple friendship between the two began to deteriorate, and they discovered many unspeakable emotions hidden deep in their hearts.
"Eternal Summer" can easily be regarded as a gay movie, but to me, both gay and non-gay are all human beings. Gay feelings and heterosexual feelings are the same, so there is no need to be specifically listed. To recognize its uniqueness (for example, the government uses a "special circle of friends" to characterize comrades), otherwise it would seem obscure and abrupt from the statement that a movie is a "female leading movie". Movies are made for people to see. It must be able to depict people’s feelings in detail, outline the complex appearance of the characters, reflect their emotional temperature, and then resonate with the audience. This is the most precious texture of a good movie. When re-watching "Eternal Summer", two movies with similar "shapes" in the past ten years will appear in my mind. One is "Girlfriend·Boyfriend" in 2012 (directed by Yang Yazhe), and the other is "Your Name Engraved Herei" (Director Liu Guanghui).
I will think of these two movies. Not only are there two men and a woman in the play, and both have gay roles, but also because the two works, which are just the second feature feature film of Director Yang and Director Liu, have shown excellent performance. The narrative ability, the film clearly imprints the traces of the times on them, and the entire emotional transmission has a clear and complete track. Through the full shaping of the characters and the precise tuning of the actors, we can purely invest in their stories, but not I only care about the role's comradeship.
It is also the second feature feature film. Of course, Chen Zhengdao’s "Eternal Summer" can give a glimpse of his basic storytelling skills. Yu Shouheng rides a bicycle with Kang Zhengxing obliquely watching Du Huijia's "motor racing show". With his eyes and lines, both Shaped the characters of the three people, and fully conveyed the ambiguity and entanglement between them. Together with the soundtrack and songs that run through the film, Mayday really makes us feel the restlessness and righteousness that is exclusive to youth, which is the whole film. Created a strange and romantic atmosphere full of uncertainty.
However, after watching this film, apart from the cycling scene, I can’t remember any scenes that impressed me, whether it’s childhood memories lacking memory, Huijia and Zhengxing’s trip to Taipei, Huijia and Shouheng’s journey together, It has become fleeting fragments. It does not have enough layout and a deeper description of the character’s flesh and blood, and some are just passing, just to tell us that this is a love triangle story and the arrangement "must be so", set a sentence of Zhang Ziyi in One of Lu Zong’s "The Birth of an Actor" most often said to actors who performed on stage:
"Do you believe in your role? I didn't believe it."
In the process of the director telling this story, I have never been able to believe it from the bottom of my heart, so you told the character to speak no matter how turbulent lines are, so much impassioned tears, I can't pay for the story, but because of its excessive "drama." And deepened the barrier to this movie. When the script itself is limited and the performance experience is also limited, it is naturally difficult for actors to make a delicate and resonant interpretation. Zhang Rui’s winning the Golden Horse Award for Best New Actor is certainly worthy of congratulations. However, leaving aside Yang Qi, who is a Hong Kong native, his mouth and body movements are not as good as those of Zhang Xiaoquan, who competed with him for best new actor. Smoothly. Zhang Xiaoquan’s arrogant, blazing, unwilling and remorseful expression in his eyes may be the reason why I thought the movie was good when I watched it, but I kept my eyes on this 24-year-old boy who may be a little immature but very talented in acting. Maybe everyone regards him as a professional male god and gay actor, but to me, he is a real actor, not willing to repeat himself, carefully selecting the script and trying to shape each role actor, from "Eternal Summer", In the later "GF*BF·", "SOUL", "Murmur Of The Hearts", and the TV series "The Victims' Game", he used every performance to prove himself, a good actor has long been born, just waiting for you Appreciate carefully.
