Verify Your Spotify For Artists Account
The first step to wanting your music to be featured on Spotify playlists is to make or use a Spotify for Artists account. You can easily verify your profile using Spotify. Once you have verified your Spotify artist profile you will have access to your own personal data. In addition, the blue tick next to your name will show others that you are a verified artist. This blue tick will get Spotify listeners’, Spotify playlist curators, and and other Spotify accounts attention. It is vital to include as much information on your Spotify for artists account. This is because the more you include the higher your chances will be for other Spotify listeners to find your song and include it in their own playlist.
There are 3 kinds of Spotify playlists
Editorial Playlists
Algorithmic Playlists
User curated playlists
Editorial Playlists
Editorial playlists are the type of Spotify playlists that are created by Spotify’s editorial team from around the world. They have the biggest number of followers and they appear as the first choice when searching for a playlist, because Spotify placed them there.
Here are some examples of Editorial playlists:
Today’s Top Hits — 30.3 Million likes
Are & Be — 5.8 Million Likes
Coffee Table Jazz — 2.3 Million likes
Funky Heavy Bluesy — 800K likes
Hot Country — 6.7 Million followers
These playlists can make a massive difference for an artist who manages to get his song placed on an editorial playlist, it can dramatically change his/her career.

Algorithmic Playlists
Every time you like a song, listen to a song on repeat, follow an artist or save a song, the Spotify algorithm remembers it. Spotify then gathers the captured data and proceeds by setting up a tailor made playlist just for you, specific to your music taste. These playlists are a great opportunity for artists to gain exposure for their songs and connect with genuine followers.
There are 3 kinds of algorithmic playlists -
Daily Mix
Release Radar
Discover Weekly
Daily Mix are updated daily and can host different kinds of music genres. The more you listen to Daily mix’s, the more they are updated frequently with new music.
Release Radar is a weekly updated playlist with 2 hours of music. The songs in these playlists are new releases from artists you are following.
Discover Weekly presents artists that are a match with your music taste and other people like you with the same music preferences. It updates every Monday and is a great opportunity for you, as an artist, to get exposed.
User Curated Playlists
These are independently curated playlists created by Spotify users. Most of the time these are music lovers that invest time and effort into their own playlists.
Users can choose whether to make their playlists private or public. Most of the users are regular users who created playlists for their own fun. Some of the users are creating playlists for more professional use, for example, playlists for restaurants, bars, music charts, exercise, sports, different brands and more.
In terms of your submitted music, to get your own tracks on self curated Spotify playlists, you will need to be self aware to your quality of your own music, make sure your new music has a decent production quality and you are absolutely sure in your song’s release. Another important thing to do is to research the genre of music you produce. Some artists, even the most professional ones, are commonly mistaken about their song’s musical genre. If you’re not sure about your musical genre, google a similar artist you think your music sounds like. Check out the their musical genre and do some digging. Submitting your new music to the right playlist with the right music genre is curtail, otherwise it’s a waster of time and money.
(By the way) the platform “One Submit” is all about connecting between the artists and the playlist owners. They help artists pitch music for playlist consideration, as well as for radio stations, blogs, YouTube channels, TikTok Influencers, record labels and more.
