Honored Moments: Five Unforgettable Interviews with Iconic Actresses
As an entertainment journalist, I have had the privilege of interviewing some of the most talented and influential actresses in the industry. Each interview was a unique experience, offering insights into their incredible careers and personal journeys. Here are five unforgettable interviews with iconic women actresses that I was honored to conduct.
Angela Bassett
Interviewing Angela Bassett was a career highlight. Known for her powerful performances in films like "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "Black Panther," Bassett's presence is both commanding and graceful. I had the honor to interviewing Angela about the 25th anniversary of How Stella Got Her Groove Back which was being celebrated during the 2023 Tribeca Festival. The now Academy Award winning actress has a deep passion for her craft and dedication to every single role she obtains. Our interview was truly inspiring.

Sigourney Weaver
Sigourney Weaver is a legend in the science fiction genre, best known for her role as Ellen Ripley in the "Alien" franchise. Interviewing her was a surreal experience. We chatted about her role in the film The Good House. She played the role of Hildy Good. Hilda, a once the most prosperous realtor in Wendover, has fallen on hard times following her divorce and family's insistence she go to rehab for alcoholism. Sigourney was so humble and nice throughtout the interview. Check out our interview via the NYWIFT Blog here:
Sharon Stone
Sharon Stone's interview was as cool as her performances. Known for her roles in "Basic Instinct" and "Casino," Stone has always brought a fierce and magnetic presence to the screen. I interviewed Sharon at the New York Women in Film & Television Muse Awards. She was a honoree. Stone's charisma and honesty makes for a compelling and memorable interview, showcasing her as not just an actress but a passionate advocate and storyteller.
Meagan Good
Meagan Good has been a standout in both film and television, with memorable roles in "Think Like a Man," "Stomp the Yard," and the TV series "Harlem." As well as her latest work titled, Divorce in the Black, brought to us by Tyler Perry which is getting rave reviews. Interviewing Meagan was a delightful experience. (This was before her divorce.) Good discussed her journey in the industry, the importance of staying true to oneself, and more. Her positivity and commitment to her craft were infectious, making the interview both enjoyable and enlightening. I interviewed her for none other than our beloved Vocal Media platform.
Danielle Moné Truitt
Danielle Moné Truitt, known for her powerful performance in "Rebel" and her role in "Deputy," brought an inspiring perspective to our interview. Truitt shared her experiences as a cast member in Law & Order: Organized Crime for British Thoughts Magazine. Her dedication to her roles and her drive to push boundaries in Hollywood made our conversation both impactful and motivating.
In Conclusion
Interviewing these five incredible women - Angela Bassett, Sigourney Weaver, Sharon Stone, Meagan Good, and Danielle Moné Truitt- has been an extraordinary honor. Each of these actresses has left a significant mark on the entertainment industry through their talent, perseverance, and advocacy. Their stories and insights have not only enriched my career but have also provided valuable lessons on resilience, representation, and the power of storytelling. These interviews are more than just conversations; they are celebrations of the remarkable contributions these women have made to film and television. Their impact continues to inspire and empower, reminding us of the profound influence that strong, dedicated women can have on the world.
