From the shimmering bells and evocative winter wind effects to Harriet’s vocals, the track has plenty of festive warmth and celebration. The song’s singable “la-la” sections, contributed by Mann, adds a communal, timeless quality that invites listeners to join in, making it a perfect fit for holiday gatherings and playlists.
Harriet describes Got the Holiday Spirit as more than just a seasonal celebration.
To her, the song reflects a deeper message about connection, love, and positivity - values the world needs now more than ever:
"This year, I wanted to create a very uplifting track for the holidays--especially as it was going to be released around election time. Got the Holiday Spirit is a track co-written with an NYC artist--Li Mann--and though the music was all mine, she contributed half the verses and the la la sections, which I think are some of the most singable lines of the whole piece. There are lots of bells, winter wind sounds, lively background vocals--as if the whole community is singing--and lots of lyrics about the spirit of the season.
To me, at a time when the world needs more uplifting music, this song speaks to the fact that the holiday spirit is more than shopping, carols, weather (depending on where the listener is), cozy fireplace scenes, and parties. It is about the idea of excitement in the air gut also the idea of connection and spreading that spirit. Not merely as a cliche but really as a mantra for our world today.
When the song says "You know the love of the holiday spirit is a beacon in the night," I really mean it, and I think the music supports the lyric. And my line about our ability to access this poitive spirit any time of year is one I hope to share with the listeners.
Harriet’s music career is a shows passion for music; she has graced some of the most iconic stages, including the Bluebird Café in Nashville, Tennessee, and the Red Ants Pants Music Festival in Montana.
Harriet is also an artist for Breedlove Guitars, playing the iconic instruments made in Bend, Oregon, and has released four original albums to date. Her latest album, "Ready for a Change", has been met with critical acclaim, and her highly anticipated fifth album is set for release in early 2025.
In addition to her musical achievements, Harriet is deeply committed to giving back. She has performed for victims of natural disasters, women’s shelters, and currently lends her voice to an Austin-based choral group that brings uplifting shows to retirement and assisted living facilities. Each year, she donates 10% of her music revenue to charity, exemplifying her belief in using her art to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

"Got the Holiday Spirit" is a natural extension of Harriet’s mission to uplift and inspire. The lively background vocals, layered production, and lyrics about embracing the spirit of the season combine to create a track that feels like a shared celebration.
