Hallow's Eve Playlist
I gotta Rock...

Alright, let’s do this and get the party started. For the Graveyard Smash Challenge I’ve compiled a collection of 19 videos for your frightful enjoyment, with an approximate run-time of 88 minutes. I’ve also broken the list up into 4 separate blocks, each with a run-time of approximately 22 minutes.
I currently don’t have the needed equipment to make you the type of presentation I would like to do, and a video editing program like Vegas Pro would be very useful right about now. I do have an off-the-shelf Walmart PC, a cheapie webcam, a spotty DSL internet connection, and access to YouTube, so I think we can make this work.
I have a feeling everyone is going to use fairly standard stuff like the Monster Mash, Transylvania Twist, Werewolf’s of London, etc. but I want to offer you something just a little bit different. I want to try to tell you a story through the progression of the music. I’m going to start you off mellow and move you into some heavier tunes. There may be bands and song versions you’ve never heard before.
I’ve tried to use the official song versions whenever possible due to copyright restrictions that I won’t get into here. I’ve also tried to select songs with decent videos but a few of them have nothing, which could provide a great opportunity for an enterprising content creator to create videos for official songs. The goal there would be to work with the copyright owners so we all can profit while staying square with the law.
Block 1 of 4
01. Seasons of Wither (Unplugged) - Aerosmith
It’s that time of year, Seasons of Wither. While the Beatles and the Rolling Stones might have been the Greatest Rock-n-Roll bands of all-time, Aerosmith is most certainly the Greatest American Rock-n-Roll band of all-time. Your journey begins with this unique unplugged version… Blues hearted lady, sleepy was she. Love for the devil brought her to me.
02. Hotel California (Metal Cover) - Violet Orlandi
I'm sure you've all heard Hotel California by the Eagles before. It's a classic. This is a Heavy Metal cover from Violet Orlandi. It's kind of different yet still mellow for a Heavy Metal song. I think you'll like it. Notice that Violet is a content creator on Patreon, so there will be about 15 seconds of dead-air after her video while I allow her sponsor credits to roll. Forgive me for supporting a fellow content creator. There she stood in the doorway. I heard the mission bell and I was thinking to myself "This could be Heaven or this could be Hell."
03. Devil Woman - Cliff Richards
This is a classic from 1976. It hit #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is an absolutely perfect Halloween tune. Crystal ball on the table showing the future, the past. Same cat with them evil eyes and I knew it was a spell she cast.
04. Creep - Radiohead
Well, what do you say when you find yourself sitting across the table from a witch? Whatever makes you happy. Whatever you want. You're so fucking special. I wish I was special. But I'm a creep. I'm a weirdo. What the hell am I doing here?
05. Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Another classic from 1976. It hit #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was listed at number 405 on Rolling Stone's list of the top 500 songs of all time. Contrary to popular belief it isn’t a song about suicide, but a song about an elderly couple being united again in death. This is a song that could use the aid of a content creator, as there is no official video. Seasons don't fear the reaper. Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain... we can be like they are. Come on baby... don't fear the reaper.
Block 2 of 4
06. Riders on the Storm (Original Demo) - The Doors
This is a unique pre-release Demo version. It’s shorter and slightly different from the final cut recorded on the album in 1971, which reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100. There's a killer on the road. His brain is squirmin' like a toad.
07. Lunatic Fringe - Red Rider
This was released in 1981 and the song's first demo was recorded on the evening of John Lennon's murder. It's a song about Antisemitism, the Lunatics. Lunatic fringe, I know you're out there. You're in hiding.
08.The Devil Went Down to Georgia (Metal Cover) - Nickleback
Nickleback? Yes, Nickleback, but like you've never heard Nickleback before. A Heavy Metal cover of Charlie Daniels 'The Devil went down to Georgia'. The Devil went down to Georgia. He was lookin' for a soul to steal. He was in a bind 'cause he was way behind and he was willing to make a deal.
09. Take Me Down - Pretty Reckless
Pretty Reckless is a band from New York City. They've just released their 4th album and have already had four #1 songs on US charts. Have you ever heard of them before? Been waitin' at these crossroads forever and a day, On a guy to buy my soul.
10. Run Like Hell - Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd is a Classic Rock band formed in the mid-1960s. They've recorded over a dozen albums and are consider by some as the greatest progressive rock band of all time. You better make your face up with your favourite disguise...'Cause if they catch you in the back seat trying to pick her locks, they're gonna send you back to Mother in a cardboard box. You better run!
Block 3 of 4
11. Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf
Michael Lee Aday, better known as Meat Loaf, is the ultimate Rock Opera performer. His ‘Bat out of Hell’ trilogy has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide, and still sells over 200,000 albums per year 40 years later. Meat Loaf also played Eddie in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’. He appeared as Robert "Bob" Paulsen in the movie ‘Fight Club’ and has dozens of other cameo appearance to his credit. The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling way down in the valley tonight. There's a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye and a blade shining, oh, so bright. There's evil in the air and there's thunder in sky.
12. Ozzy Fudd (The Rabbit Slayer) - Mark McCollum
I just had to include this one. After you hear it you’ll know why. I believe it was produced by a radio station DJ for his morning show, but I could be wrong. WPLJ, 95.5, out of New York City, is now a non-commercial contemporary Christian music station. I don’t think you’ll be hearing this played there again any time soon. Enjoy! In the dead of night, a shimmering light. Gleam of a blade and the Devil is paid when the axe comes down.
13. Mother - Danzig
Okay. Let’s move on from killing rabbits to sacrificing chickens. Danzig is an American Heavy Metal band. Their openly satanic lyrics and images have stirred a degree of controversy. Mother, tell your children not to walk my way. Tell your children not to hear my words, what they mean, what they say... But if you wanna find hell with me, I can show you what it's like.
14. Cold Ethyl - Alice Cooper
What Halloween playlist would be complete without Alice Cooper? Alice is a Halloween Show all on his own. Everyday is Halloween for Alice Cooper. This is a song about necrophilia and keeping the corpse in the freezer. One thing I miss is Cold Ethyl and her skeleton kiss... Ethyl's frigid as an Eskimo pie. She's cool in bed. She ought to be, 'cause Ethyl's dead.
15. Fairies Wear Boots - Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath was an English band formed in 1968. They are considered to be the pioneers of the Heavy Metal genre. The lead singer was Ozzy Osbourne, a.k.a. Prince of Darkness. Many of you may know Ozzy from his reality TV shows, The Osbournes, and Ozzy & Jack's World Detour. I have to wonder how a man who can’t speak coherently could’ve been such an awesome vocalist. Goin' home late last night, suddenly I got a fright. Yeah, I looked through a window and surprised what I saw. Fairy boots are dancin' with a dwarf.
Block 4 of 4
16. Dragula - Rob Zombie
Rob Zombie loves horror movies and has directed several including House of 1000 Corpses (2003), The Devil's Rejects (2005), Halloween (2007), Halloween II (2009). I believe the car he is driving in this clip is from the 1960s TV series ‘The Munsters’. Dragula was a car featured in this series, as well. Dig through the ditches and burn through the witches, and slam in the back of my Dragula.
17. War Pigs - Black Sabbath
Another Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne tune. Why not? Many thought this was an anti-Vietnam War song but it wasn’t intended to be. It was just a song about Evil and was originally titled Walpurgis, which is a religious holiday for Satanists. Generals gathered in their masses, just like witches at black masses. Evil minds that plot destruction, Sorcerer of death's construction.
18. Hells Bells -AC/DC
AC/DC was a Hard Rock band from Australia, formed in 1973, and led by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell. I'm gonna get ya, Satan get ya. Hell's bells, they're taking you down. Hell's bells, they're dragging you under.
19. Enter Sandman - Metallica
Finally, we have Metallica. Formed as a Heavy Metal band in 1981. They are considered to be one of the four original Thrash Metal bands. Say your prayers, little one. Don't forget, my son, to include everyone. I tuck you in, warm within. Keep you free from sin ‘til the Sandman he comes.
