"Faith in the Future" lyrics that made me the proud mom I am today
and for the record, I'm a very proud one indeed.

Louis William Tomlinson has been the cause of a lot of emotional healing lately. Me? I was always a Harry girl myself. However, 2022 brought me one of the most immaculate albums I have heard in recent time, and now, I am unapologetically a Louis girl for life. (Eh em, I eat carrots, Lou.)
This album has helped me heal a lot of trauma that has impacted me in my adult life, and every song, from first to last, has given me so many moments to be proud of.
Ladies, our little bean has grown up!
The Greatest (it really is!)
no fallin' all to pieces we're the greatest
Okay, bestie. Show me how grown up you are. I'm here for it. This is just the start we needed. I'm all jazzed up, ready for this banger of an album....
Face the Music
I don't want to face the music, but I still want to dance with you.
One of my FAVORITE lyrics and no one will tell me otherwise. Um, hearing this live? Definitely a top tier living experience for me, even if it was from the parking lot. (Big shoutout to the security guard that DIDN'T kick me out. Much love!)
Saturdays
This is where things start to go downhill quickly. I mean? The lyrics? The sound design? WHA-
Well, I'll just let you see for yourself.
I'm gazin' at the floor. Somebody's got your trainers on. The ones that you wore when you walked out the door.
I have no words. You can come up with your own.
My heart might be broken, but I won't be broken down
You get 'em, Lou. You might not be broken, but as for me...
That's the Way Love Goes
You really couldn't give me a break with this one, could you?
When it cuts you, when you bleed, that's when you're feeling it the most.
Such an oddly deep line for such a mellow album throughout. Surely it was placed purposefully at the end just to *twist* at those heartstrings.
Silver Tongues
100% one of my absolute favorite songs to hear live. I cannot BELIEVE the energy.
You said love was a pretty lie
Again with the lines that are simply immaculate. Like, tattoo on your arm worthy. (And I'll never get over the way Lou says "pretty")
Written All Over Your Face
It's hard enough to get you sober, got no chance if I'm hungover.
EXCUSE ME
When we're finished saying nothing can we please get back to loving? When it's good, it's really something. Can we please get back to us now?
EXCUSE ME X2
Chicago
Okay, this will go down as my best ever blind pick on an album ever, and let me share with you the lyrics why:
I'm sorry that your mum don't like me. I'm sorry that I brought that on myself
They say bitter ends turn sweet in time. Is that true of yours and mine? Cause if you're lonely in Chicago you can call me, baby. Has it been long enough that you can forgive me?
I had to stop myself here because I seriously would have single-handedly typed out every lyric to this song. Cute of you to think I was kidding.
But now, for the big reveal of my favorite two lines from the entire track:
Oh, I didn't have to search 'cause I still know your number. I bet sometimes you still like to wear my jumper.
Please cue every tear that I haven't already shed. It's even in bold. That ought to tell you that I would marry this line if I could.
Headline
I guess I never knew we'd have the shortest forever.
A lyrical genius this man is. What a man. What a man.
Common People
My instant fav. The first time I heard it, I thought it was going to be the most underrated song from the entire album. Clearly, I was right, and sadly, so many people are walking around without ears :(
Common people, nothing's changed. You'll hear strangers singin' your name.
Out of My System
Okay, this song makes me so proud of L because I can tell how hard he worked to make this sound his own.
I only wanna go faster towards disaster every time.
I've lived a lot of my life already, but I gotta get through the rest.
Bigger Than Me
Ah, the single that started it all. *Cue the proud mom eyes*
All of those voices, all of those choices. I don't hear them anymore
I know I took a left tryna make it right
All This Time
the friends we make, the love it takes, it's worth, it's worth, it's worth the pain
Let me cry in peace please. I cannot handle how emotionally packed this album is in such a Louis way :)
Lucky Again
'Cause I'm a hard man to lose
But I figured it out, then made my way back to a life I would choose.
Yeah, babe! Get 'em! You ARE a hard man to lose/find! Confident Louis is the one I've been waiting for, and he's *here*
She is Beauty We are World Class
Surrounded by light, surrounded by light.
Such a fun little banger. Don't come at me for this song. It's so *Louis*
Angels Fly
You'll be okay we can talk tomorrow. I'm on my way with some time to borrow.
If every star is an eye in the sky you'll see angels fly.
Is it any secret that all former 1D fans have insanely high standards for any men in their lives? No? Okay good because that clearly didn't change when the boys are still writing lyrics like THIS.
Holding on to Heartache
Do you guys remember when Louis was just a little lad with not a care in the world? Me too. I want it back.
You said I'm holding on to heartache, you said I wear it like a crown.
And time can always heal you if you let it make its way into your bones.
And nothing's ever easy. Too be honest, I'm not easy on myself.
