Eurovision 2021 France: Reviewing All 12 Songs from C’est Vous Qui Décidez
Could France see their first victory in 45 years?

In Eurovision: France are an institution. France is one of only seven countries to be present at the first contest, and has been absent from only two contests in its history.
With five victories it is one of the most successful nation at the contest. However, it recent years it has seen mixed results, and has one of the biggest gaps between wins out of all participating countries (its most recent win was 1977).
Could 2021 bring better fortunes? Lets take a look at their hopefuls.
21 Juin Le Duo- "Peux-tu me dire?"
Fun and upbeat, if a little generic. It would probably be forgotten by televoters at the actual contest. My score: 6/10
Ali- "Paris me dit (Yalla ya helo!)"
A song you’d hear in a gay bar at 4am, and would be the thumping tune you’d hear during your seventh Jaegerbomb. It doesn’t really stand out to me, and I doubt it would stand out to voters. My score: 5/10
Amui- "Maeva"
Cruise ship entertainment at best. Very cheesy and dated, and for sure bottom of the table if it were to go to Eurovision. My score: 2/10
Andriamad- "Alléluia"
Cool, fresh and well-choreographed: this song is sleek. Something a bit different for France to enter- and it could pay them dividends. My score: 8/10
Barbara Pravi- "Voilà"
Oozing French class and elegance, this song would for sure stand out at the contest, and would get a number of votes from areas such as Belgium and other Western nations. I think it’s very charming. My score: 8/10
Casanova- "Tutti"
Another very dated pop song with no real solid reason for it to be France's Eurovision entry. My score: 5/10
Céphaz- "On a mangé le soleil"
This song would absolutely get the crowd involved, and is a nice upbeat song that would score averagely at the contest. My score: 6/10
Juliette Moraine- "Pourvu qu'on m'aime"
A heartfelt ballad, and really shows what France are about. The presentation would need to be upped dramatically however for it to make any impact at the contest, and it wouldn’t be a wise selection if France wanted to win the televote. My score: 6/10
LMK- "Magique"
A very commercial pop song, its what you’d expect of a middle of the road Eurovision song. Some flair, some potential, but will it get many points? With great staging: yes it would. My score: 7/10
Philippine- "Bah non"
A banger and is absolutely the best of the line-up so far- Philippine serves the song with sass and energy, which is something many of the other contestants seem to lack. My score: 8/10
PONY X- "Amour fou"
This song doesn’t take itself too seriously, and is a lot of fun. Not the first time we’ve seen a horse mask in a Eurovision performance, and its certainly a possibility it wouldn’t be the last with this song! My score: 7/10
Terence James- "Je t'emmènerai danser"
Another great song, and very fitting for Eurovision. This would be a real contender for a top 10 placing for France, and out of all the songs the most televoter friendly.
Overall, there are some serious contenders for the Eurovision crown in this selection. With Juliette, Barbara or possible Terrance, they could see a strong result at the contest. Barbara has some serious potential to do well, and could be a possible winner for France. Barbara I believe would be the most likely to be selected by France, as it represents France’s music style strongly.
Who do you want France to select? Do you think we could see the contest back in Paris in 2021?
