Can you share the inspiration behind the creation of Fitness Snob and how your journey began?
Kim: Fitness Snob was inspired by my passion for fitness and a desire to create a brand that caters to fashion-forward individuals who take their fitness seriously. My journey began as a fitness enthusiast who noticed a gap in the market for stylish and functional fitness accessories that finish the look. I wanted to provide high-quality products that not only perform well but also look great, allowing people to express their personal style while staying active.
How did you come up with the name "Fitness Snob," and what does it signify for your brand and your customers?
Kim: The name "Fitness Snob" reflects the brand's commitment to high standards and quality. It signifies a sense of pride and dedication to fitness, embracing a lifestyle where being particular about one's fitness routine and appearance is celebrated. It is NOT about judgment but about being unapologetic of your fitness preferences including what you do and what you wear while doing it.

What do you enjoy most about being a business owner?
Kim: As a business owner, I enjoy the creative freedom and the ability to bring my vision to life. It's incredibly rewarding to see how Fitness Snob resonates with customers and how our products positively impact their fitness experiences. I also cherish the opportunity to innovate and continuously improve our offerings, ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of our community.
As a Black and women-owned business, how do you see Fitness Snob contributing to the broader conversation around diversity and representation in the fitness and fashion industries?
Kim: Fitness Snob contributes to the broader conversation around diversity and representation by showcasing the importance of inclusivity in the fitness and fashion industries. As a Black and women-owned business, we strive to create a brand that reflects diversity in our products, marketing, and company culture. We aim to inspire and empower individuals from all backgrounds to pursue their fitness goals and feel confident and stylish while doing so.

What are some challenges you've faced as a Black and women-owned business, and how have you overcome them?
Kim: One of the challenges I've faced is gaining visibility and recognition in a competitive market. To overcome this, I've focused on building strong relationships with customers and partners, leveraging social media and other marketing channels to increase brand awareness. Additionally, I've worked hard to ensure that our products stand out in terms of quality and design, which has helped us build a loyal customer base.

We plan to achieve these goals by continuously innovating our products, investing in marketing and partnerships, and staying true to our brand values.
