How did you get your artist name?
My artist name is actually my first name and my middle name. My last name is Siedschlag, and I always hated pronouncing it, so I knew that I would one day change it to just Dina Renée – I’ve been going by that since I moved to Hollywood. It felt authentic to use it because my music is deeply personal, and I wanted to stay true to myself as an artist.
What city are you from and where are you based now?
I’m originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, and now I’m based in Los Angeles. The best summers that you could ever dream of are in my hometown – I miss it terribly sometimes, but Los Angeles, as crazy as it is, feels like home to me. There’s something so special about a place where every single day something or someone you meet could change your life. You just never know what could happen, and I love the creative community here and how passionate people are. The contrast between those two places has definitely shaped my perspective and sound.
Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how?
Absolutely. Growing up in the South, I was surrounded by storytelling and emotion-driven music. That influence helped me tap into the vulnerability and honesty that comes through in my lyrics today.
