Creative music for creative minds.
Great music for a good vibe.

Aside from film, music is my second love. I am constantly listening to music, even watching a movie just for the score. I fortunately get to enjoy music during my work hours as well. It is a necessity. The right song can make me work longer, work faster, inspire me to write a story, or inspire me to keep moving forward with my dreams even when they are feeling unattainable. I am no music guru but I can give you some good music recommendations for whatever your needs may be. My number one recommendation is checking out “Lofi Girl”. Lofi Girl provides playlists for numerous occasions and can be found on music platforms such as Apple Music, YouTube, and Spotify. I often use the “beats to sleep/chill to” playlist to ease my mind and fall asleep. I am a person who cannot fall asleep without sound and little bit of light, so leaving this playing on my projector with the music streaming through my headphones is the perfect setup.
Now on a creative sense, I am a little all over the place. I’m an artist of many sorts and I listen to everything from golden oldies, to 80’s, hip hop, and electronica. When I am writing I tend to listen to Lofi Girl’s “beats to relax/study to”. It is a super chill easy listening vibe, that keeps you mellowed out even if you are feeling a little overwhelmed. When I am creating designs my usual go to is indie music. The indie music I’m drawn to has hints of upbeat 80’s music mixed with funk/disco. Examples of this “vibe” are the artists “Gardens & Villa”, “Roosevelt”, and one of my all-time favorites “Washed Out”.
Every Washed Out album is different and embodies all of my favorite genres from easy listening to funk. If you are into any of that give Washed Out a listen. My main album recommendations just to get you started are “Mister Mellow” and “Paracosm”. You know what, throw a little “Life of Leisure” in there as well. It is the first album I ever heard from Washed Out and its only a 6 song EP. It is a very 80’s-based EP, it is amazing but save that one for last. It is completely different from the first two. As far as relaxing goes though, the first two albums I recommended are the best options.
Roosevelt is also a great listen. I recommend the self-titled album to start with. It is also his very first album. A song that I often vibe out and relax to from that album is “Close”. It is slow and has a very romantic 80’s vibe. I love it. Definitely give that a listen!
For Gardens & Villa, I recommend the album “Dunes”. Gardens & Villa are very indie but have a lot of 80’s undertones in their music. Especially in their album “Dunes”. Which is also my favorite album of theirs. A chill song on that album is “Purple Mesas”. This song also has a romantic feel to it but overall, very relaxing.
Finally, when I am exercising it’s really all about reggaetón. However, when I am not listening to that during a workout, I often find myself listening to my “Them Changes” Pandora playlist. “Them Changes” is a song by an amazingly unique artist named “Thundercat”. If you have not heard that song please check it out, as well as “Dragonball durag”. Yeah, I told you he is unique. Anyhow, a lot of cool and intricate artists pop up on this playlist. Examples are Thundercat, The Internet, Steve Lacy, Masego, Anderson .Paak, Kali Uchis and so much more. All these artists have a range of low to up tempo songs, but the Pandora playlist tends to play their lower tempo songs which are relaxing and make you feel like the coolest cat in the room. I hope you give these artists a listen. I think when it comes to relaxed and semi euphoric vibe, I get the job done.
Have a good one!
