As we approach the holiday season, there are many new releases to be celebrated. These new releases span across genres and include incredible new hits from artists like Dolly Parton, Liddy Clark, and Renee Rapp. Here are some hits for music enthusiasts or people just looking for new music to jam to.
Dolly Parton’s new song “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” featuring Brandi Carlile and P!nk. This track is all about empowerment as they channel their inner rock n rock in this cover of the Rolling Stones hit. Adding her own southern tang to it, Dolly is able to keep the stamina that Mick Jagger established in the original release.
We're getting into the holiday spirit with “It’s Christmas Time,” the new track by Liddy Clark. She expresses the happiness that surrounds the holiday season and the importance of spending Christmas time with those you love. She echoes similar sentiments of winter traditions including Santa coming and the fireplace covered in holly.
Renee Rapp has released a deluxe edition of her first album Snow Angel, which features three new songs and a second rendition of “Tummy Hurts” featuring Coco Jones. The leading song from these new releases includes “I Do” in which Renee laments on seeing a relationship as something more serious than the other person sees it. Renee juxtaposes the dual meaning of "I do,” one in which Renee states that they do not see the relationship like “I do” and the other in which the other person says “I do” to another person in terms of marriage.
Tate McRae releases another upbeat breakup song “exes” where she embraces moving on from her exes. Tate echoes sending kisses to her exes which emphasizes self empowerment after a breakup. This track will join “greedy” on her new album.
“Red Bird Little Red Bird” is the lead single from Amy Jack’s new Christmas album of the same name. This song paints the story of seeing a little bird in the snow on Christmas morning. The little red bird was sent from someone above delivering a message on Christmas morning to their loved ones.
“Life Lessons” is the leading single of Wyatt Flores’ new album of the same name. This track emphasizes the importance of paving your way through living life. There are several mentions of learning more by experiencing life than staying in school. Wyatt highlights the importance of embracing yourself and your life.
Drake released the next entry of his album released last month called For All the Dogs Scary Album Edition. This rendition includes six new songs including the track “Red Button” in which Drake mentions both Taylor Swift and Kanye West. His reference to Taylor Swift highlights how she is the only person he is worried about on the charts. His reference to Kanye West highlights their feud where Drake thinks they can move past it but Kanye’s work is premeditated.
MacKenzie Porter’s new song “Bet You Break My Heart” states how she’s falling for someone that she knows will end up breaking up with her. This track echoes the tale of head versus heart, where she is aware that he is bad for her but can’t help but like him.
“Solo” is a new single from Myles Smith. Myles plays upon the words solo and so low where he asks why they left him solo and so low after making him feel so high. The track is about a breakup where the other person leaves Myles heartbroken.
Ginger Minj is a woman of many talents as she released a song of the same title as her book, “Southern Fried Sass.” This track is the perfect mix of southern charm and southern attitude. Alluding to southern food throughout the track, Ginger sprinkles her personality to the typical southern sayings.
“Don’t Talk to Me Like That” is a new track by Walker County. This song highlights the frustration of being sweet talked while you’re unsure if the other person is serious about the relationship.
